I loaded both games, checked the realms , sorted by population and counted.

Ahh, that way.

As much that’s a fine enough way to do that, the problem is, you’re not exactly dealing with only numbers, but with Variables that are missing numbers. Sort of like a math equation. Not to mention, these variables have a range to them. Sure, 10 full servers for example sounds good, but what does full exactly mean here?

Basically, Blizzard does not make it easy to know exactly the population number.

No kidding. I never claimed to know the exact number. But since both games are ran by the same company its fair to compare realms. One has many. The other has few. Doesnt take a genius to see which one is doing better.

He’s been doing that with a few posters here. But after his comments about DF I couldn’t resist bookmaking this thread for future use. Anyone with half a brain knew that if DF was successful WOTLK Classic was going to lose people. Classic is nothing more than a stop gap between patches except for players like the OP who think tedious grinds and no QOL is the way to go. And that base of people are VERY small. So watching him contort himself all over the place when faced with reality has been a pleasure to watch.

Anyone with half a brain knew that if DF was successful WOTLK Classic was going to lose people.

I’ve never denied this. I fully acknowledge that Classic would lose a few people to dragonkin furry fantasy simulator for a few weeks or even a month, all new expansions for wow always briefly inject some life back into their respective version. Just like Shadowlands lost people when Wrath opened up. But it’s a temporary thing. People will get sick of dragon girls voiced by californian starbucks employee sounding voice actors and the tired carrot on a stick, constant reward, system that retail has, and will go back to what the actually good version of WoW: classic. It’s hilarious that you think the furry community is going to keep DF propped up enough to actually keep people away from wrath for more than a brief period of time.

What a terrible waste this is all turning out to be. All they had to do was just leave it alone and not change things… but no. Can’t have that.

if it had been up to me, Blizzard would have refused to make any changes except those demanded by the changes in the game’s technology. A true all-or-nothing decision, and coming down completely on the “nothing” side.

As much i agree with the rest of this comment, i do kind of have to disagree slightly with this part, i think Classic/Old WoW handles grinds a bit better given no limits and what not. I’m sitting here RN, waiting for the rest of the World Quests to respawn because of me doing a bunch of them the moment tueday reset, there’s a depressing 4 left on my map, instead of being infinite or somewhat.

This is what we all should have agreed on in the beginning. The no change people were right and idk why i ever thought it was okay for even a few small changes. Just put us down the slippery slope we’re on.

I know it’s a necro but reading through it man…. I loved the original zombie invasion event for Wrath sure it wasn’t widely popular but it sure was on my server. Crowds of people had so much fun for the whole duration. I miss the little things like that destroyed by a bunch of whiners inconvenienced that they couldn’t turn in a quest at that very moment. And yeah, whiners. I’ll die on that hill.

Maybe there’s something actually wrong with this event on the reason why there’s so many people not down with it, despite you subjectively finding fun in it? I mean that’s still a possibility to actually consider… Especially since just calling people “whiners” isn’t exactly helpful.
