Completely optional of course if you don’t like it, don’t have it turned on but
There is no proven better gold sink than Transmog.
You can make the Transmog costs pretty decent like idk 20-40g per piece to change.
This will:
A - Encourage Classic and TBC content to be run more often for the looks + more options to get achievements
B - Take excess gold out of the economy at very huge rates
C - Make older Wrath tiers still be pursued even more so they stay alive somewhat.
D - Ultimately let people have another way to have fun, and that should be reason enough.
Yes, I know you can still do all of that and use an addon to quickly swap to your “T Mog” items, but a lot of people enjoy looking super cool while raiding in current content etc.
The tech is there, it doesn’t add any power level or make any aspect of gameplay less challenging or more challenging. Use a little Dev Time and patch it in. A nice early Christmas gift .
Weird that Dungeon FInder was part of the original WOTLK the ‘game we are playing’ and guess what, that’s not there is it, doesn’t sound like it is the ‘exact’ game we are playing hmmmm
Transmog was honestly great. I loved seeing all the creative sets people put together.
I know for PvP seeing what kind of gear someone is wearing is a tell of who to target potentially, but we could fix that just by disabling transmog in arenas.
As for everyone saying ‘it wasn’t part of wrath’ – who cares? The game is old, and a lot of changes have already happened and blizz eluded more are coming. If they’re gonna change it anyways it already isn’t the wrath you once knew. At least transmog doesn’t change -anything- mechanically.
Exactly, disable it in all instanced PVP and just accept that some changes are better for overall player morale and the economy itself, my goodness we need a gold sink , the sheer amount of gold about to enter WOTLk is INSANE
Only way I’d be cool with Transmog is if I could toggle it off and not see it on any player, and if it was restricted from being usable on low level items that might cause the price of those items to sky rocket and make them inaccessible to the common pre-level-cap player.
That is the game people are here to play. That is the game people want to play. It’s weird that Blizzard is falling for the same trap that pushed people away originally and that is listening to a minority group asking for the game to be different. The requests for the game to be different will never end. We already have a solution that people want and that is wotlk as it was.
I get not having Tmog for Vanilla Classic. But at this point, let me just enjoy not looking the exact same as everybody else or having to wear some ugly flat brim turquoise mop on my head
Why doesn’t it? It shouldn’t negatively impact your experience playing the game and it’s entirely optional. Puritanism for the sake of puritanism is pointless
