Zeppelin Teleporters

And that is where our difference lies - I am fine with choices for everyone.
I like slow mode but others don’t.
My preferences shouldn’t dictate others experiences.
All the same, I hope the goblins get the zeppelins running reliably.
Maybe the Horde should consider some sort of contract with MEGA as the raceway seems to always be running smoothly.

The boats are there. Blizzard just put this on for players too lazy to wait. It’s the same logic behind “joyous journey.” They give you the option of not using it… knowing no one ever will because that’s not how a MMO is played. If something is here, you WILL use it because everyone else uses it. It’s not fair to you to take longer to do something if everyone else gets (and will thus use) a shortcut.

“No. They added them because on launch day the boats were failing and dropping people in the ocean.”
-If that is the case then they could have taken the teleport back out. But they didn’t. So your point is lost.

The regular zeppelins still come and go. Nobody is stopping you. What exactly are you sitting here crying about?

No. They added them because on launch day the boats were failing and dropping people in the ocean.

That isn’t what I said. It has nothing to do with my preferences. It has to do with what is better for the game and not giving people choices where there shouldn’t be. People need less choices not more. And transportation in videogames isn’t supposed to be instantaneous.

It’s funny that you post this… and then post this

So in other words you know exactly what the problem is: that the teleportation system is still here when it’s not supposed to be. So now the question is why you’re being antagonistic and implying you don’t know what I’m “crying” about. Because everyone who ever criticizes anything in the game ever is “crying” according to chronically online forum goers

No, there is no problem. The teleports being there do nothing to hurt you and do not stop you from using the boats/zeppelins normally.

I like how you quoted what I said and then immediately followed with a response demonstrating you didn’t read what you quoted. What part of… the teleportation isn’t supposed to be there do you not understand? Do you understand that Classic Wrath is a redo of Wrath of the Lich King? Do you understand that when there are things that are in Classic Wrath that weren’t the same way they were in the original Wrath that that is clearly a mistake?

Is it? When did that happen? I’ve been told repeatedly that is not in fact a redo. Every time I ask for RDF I’m told they removed it because they wanted to change it. Now its a redo again? Does it just flip-flop whenever they feel convenient?

Okay… so you DO understand the concept. So then what I am about to say should be very easy for you to understand: the Goblin teleportation nonsense isn’t supposed to still be here this far after launch. This is clearly a mistake and either Blizzard forgot or is delaying getting rid of it until a later patch. I made this post in case they forgot and I am here to remind them.

You saying “just use the zeppelin. It’s still there” Is COMPLETELY and unequivocally irrelevant

We can agree to disagree.
Happy gaming.

Not surprised you didn’t even consider the validity of what I said. Just emotionally compartmentalized it as “bad person saying mean selfish toxic things.” Most people don’t seem capable of thinking outside of the viewpoint of “everyone just mind their own business and do what makes them happy and nothing should be restricted if it doesn’t hurt anyone else”

Which is why concepts such as “long term health of the game” “greater good” and “making things more scarce and less instant gratification” seem to be foreign concepts in the forums these days.

Why are you continuing this?
I don’t agree with you. No problem.
Why fabricate a false narrative?

Still hope you enjoy your gaming.

Idk. Just me foolishly thinking that people would be able to see eye to eye on something. And bcuz I’ve encountered your “just give everyone every choice and all choices are valid and nothing should be removed from the game if it makes anyone at all momentarily happy for any reason” mindset, many times before and I am diametrically opposed to that. You’re right tho. No point in arguing. I know I can’t make you see my side.

It is however, comforting to know that at least a few other plays like taking their time in WoW and not just getting to the objective ASAP and actually stopping to “sniff the roses” as it were.

Either way… back on topic. My opinions on immersion and travel time being important to any RPG game, are not really the point. The point is that goblin teleportation was only in the original game as a temporary stopgap measure and it should be the same way in Classic Wrath. Players sitting around on the zeppelin waiting to get to Northrend or back to Orgrimmar was always a memorable experience of Wrath for me.

LOL harsh dude

I see the OP here as having a firm idea of what is appropriate for a rpg and would like to see that here in game with limits on convenience so as to enhance a “realism” leading to a more immersive experience.

My difference of opinion stems from the fact that this is also a mmo and with the vast numbers of people it helps to have ways to disperse those numbers even through modes of transport. Giving options isn’t always there “just because” nor is it offered just for the sake of throwing in a choice willy-nilly.

It’s okay to not agree and not to ascribe neferious motivation to the opposition. Thanks for understanding, Thromnabular.

Who is Garmuck

A very bad and transparent agent provocateur using a dwarf avatar.

I’m guessing he’s a notorious poster here in the Classic/Wrath Classic forums? Or is he on the general forums?

Yes.

Correct. It’s the same problem with other “conveniences” blizzard adds into the game.
