Iām always happy to see people rise to the occasion and surprise themselves with what theyāre capable of. Even if I am a little disappointed with the general implementation of the fight and blizzardās choice to nerf it heavily before it really got to stand up on its own.
Iām looking forward to seeing what new delve fight they make for season 2 though, and hopefully theyāve learned from what happened with this one.

Iām just glad I stuck it out and got it done. I donāt care if someone thinks I should be better than I am.
I am at a point in my life that I am comfortable with myself.
Mostly I posted because I got some good advice and wanted people struggling to stick it out and Iām just so damn happy right now.

Nah, they didnt strut around and act like theyre a top player and complaining they cant over gear a challenge.

I had a few sub 7-8% attempts where i got over excited and lost track of everything i was tracking and died to something stupid that i had dodged for 5 entire minutes up to this point.
True meaning of remaining calm under pressure lol
I recently did it on VDH as well. Didnāt keep track of the number of attempts but it took several hours over a few days.
Didnāt really feel like a well-designed fight to me. I feel like I had all the individual mechanics down within the first 5-10 tries, and after that point it was just waiting for the perfect run where I didnāt get any bad overlaps or spawn positions. High degree of RNG rather than skill expression.

Like all specs, it comes down to managing the egg spawns.
Iām not inspecting even if I had a link but I am going to assume you arenāt some dumb vampy blood DK and run the superior deathbringer spec. The main thing to change for it is to take the 30 sec reaper mark. You NEED reaper mark for the egg and the 30 sec CD lines up with egg.
Always bait the smash if itās up but then book it to the egg and wail into it. Never ever use DRW or anything else on the boss. I did it with DPS Brann with the curio where he does an aimed shot that hits 2 targets over the shrink/grow one (names escape me and I donāt care to check).
You can talent into AMS removing debuffs but itās just easier and more consistent to pre-AMS and it doesnāt come with the cooldown increase. I think I also dropped vestigal shell for osmosis too since who cares if Brann gets AMS. I dont know if I made any other notable talent changes.
I also donāt suggest doing it as blood. I had far more initial luck getting to P2 consistently with unholy and itās bajillion CDs. Once you reach P2 at 60%, Zekky all but stops meleeing you since everything he does is a channeled cast of sorts and even as blood, youāll be fighting to survive his auto attacks and the 1 shot things still 1 shot blood too.

Yea i rock death ringer for hero spec. As for unholy i rocked that first time last xpac for pvp so im more solid on blood probably.
I can look over talents some more and get some vaults in to brush up the ilvl too.
I havent seen p2 cause i tried zek only a handful of times and was messing with brann as heals vs dps so probably need to watch the fight through.
I use the curios you mention but i dont think theyre rank four and my brann is only lvl 30-somethin so probably something there to work on as well
But man i hate delves.

I did mine with Brann at level 28? And i used Amorphous and Porcelain Arrow. Neither one rank 4.
I like amorphous simply for the speed boost on slower feeling specs (ranged for me and DKs of course). The DPS boost isnt bad but thats usually the least of the issues
You mean like Brann running out of the room to reset or an egg tucked into that corner nook where you canāt avoid anything and my personal favoriteā¦getting caught by the stairs! Lol.
Iād aim for better records then tbqh.
Picking on GD is basically like picking on a special ed class. You can get a lot of easy Ws but for a wowhead guide writer Iād consider it punching down.
Regardless, looking forward to S2 as well. Hoping they consider everything a bit more in their delve template and grateful for the ease of gearing.
I think most of my attempts were a matter of me breaking habits. I kept staying too far away and I kept disengaging further away and the cone would nail me. I also use disengage all the time and had to save it for the slow if Brann didnāt get it.
I even moved spells around on my bars to stop using my standard rotation to save everything for the egg.
And managing my pet use too. He only died once during that last attempt.
It was such a āstop doing everything you normally doā. Lol.
I kept getting to about 40% and it just clickedā¦.or I was damn lucky. Either one is good for me.
Timing those potions really did help, if they were down. Brann and I had words after a number of failed runs. I think he drinks.

Maybe, ultimately I want to see people improve and succeed, or at the very least surprise themselves. I know thatās not what everyone wants to do and thatās fine, but I do have a small amount of ire reserved for those who seem to want already reasonable things brought down to their level purely because they feel entitled to their rewards.
Better understanding and execution reduces the amount of bad positions and overlaps that can occur. You can absolutely just wait until you get lucky enough but better play will lead to requiring less or no luck and more consistent attempts.
Its a play on ābroken recordsā and not like āsetting a new high score recordā
