Zandalari Paladin Loa?

Bit of a spoiler but the leader of the Prelates ends up joining Talanji’s council as her personal bodyguard. Since her loa is dead she chooses ‘to believe in Talanji’ instead, and she still seems to be able to use the gifts of the Light as a result.

I think it’s possible that in the absence of the Loa of Kings and Queens that the Prelates draw their power directly from their devotion to the royal line of succession.

Perhaps their faith in Rezan continues after his death. That he’ll return some day, and through that faith they still have access to the Light.

Considering the Zandalari have existed from the beginning of recorded civilized time and humans somehow just figured out how to mix light with great sword about 30 years ago, I think its the other way around.

This might be the next great example of an unintended consequence.

Possibly,… might be Bwonsamdi’s hand in there.
I wouldn’t doubt it the sly dog.

Blizz said not to long ago that Loa never die for good. Shadra already seems to be back in action during Talanji’s trials.

Id love to see him return this expansion though.

Very true. The light is most likely all the same for all races that want to use holy powers, it’s just how they go about finding it is different. I just never liked lumping them all together because to me it doesn’t feel right from a lore perspective of their different cultures. But I totally get what you’re saying and it makes sense.

Personally, I’m predicting Kimbul. Strength, wisdom, altruism; he’s a paladin kitty, for sure.

Zandalari will figure out the light comes from within. They will become less dependent on the Loa, venturing out into the world and join a group of fellow light users.

But…the Light doesn’t come from within. It’s a real, external energy source.

You know that’s the most boring answer to ever exist and no one who will actually play Zandalari Paladins wants that, right?

Neither did Sunwalker players.

Isn’t it based on faith, which is why bad people can use it?

It comes from An’she, the sun, the right eye of the Earth Mother placed in the forefront of the Sky Father you uncultured swine.

Tell that to Dezco. Pretty sure he referred to the light.

,… but that’s not what happened. I mean, sure, they do connect with other light-users, but is there any indication that they changed their views?

Yeah, some Sunwalkers confusingly reference the Light, but that’s probably because It’s the LIGHT OF AN’SHE in other words THE LIGHT OF THE SUN.

I think the light can be ambiguous. It could be light of the sun for sunwalkers, the light of the sunwell for blood knights, light of the naaru for draenei etc etc

Look, it’s a common complaint that priests and Paladins are homogenized into human styled light worship. I’m trying to kill the hope of religious diversity.

Yes it’s a common complaint.
Why kill the hope of religious diversity?
Especially since it’s not a complete homogenization.

Yeah that’s definitely a huge complaint that holy worship seems to fall under the umbrella of the human Paladin/priest faith, but I don’t think it has to stay that way though.

Different races offer different cultures and beliefs. That’s what makes the lore fun. I rather be a zandalari prelate who musters the holy energy of my favored loa than a human paladin who receives his/her inspiration from their own different faith.
