Bit of a spoiler but the leader of the Prelates ends up joining Talanji’s council as her personal bodyguard. Since her loa is dead she chooses ‘to believe in Talanji’ instead, and she still seems to be able to use the gifts of the Light as a result.
I think it’s possible that in the absence of the Loa of Kings and Queens that the Prelates draw their power directly from their devotion to the royal line of succession.
Considering the Zandalari have existed from the beginning of recorded civilized time and humans somehow just figured out how to mix light with great sword about 30 years ago, I think its the other way around.
Very true. The light is most likely all the same for all races that want to use holy powers, it’s just how they go about finding it is different. I just never liked lumping them all together because to me it doesn’t feel right from a lore perspective of their different cultures. But I totally get what you’re saying and it makes sense.
Zandalari will figure out the light comes from within. They will become less dependent on the Loa, venturing out into the world and join a group of fellow light users.
I think the light can be ambiguous. It could be light of the sun for sunwalkers, the light of the sunwell for blood knights, light of the naaru for draenei etc etc
Look, it’s a common complaint that priests and Paladins are homogenized into human styled light worship. I’m trying to kill the hope of religious diversity.
Yeah that’s definitely a huge complaint that holy worship seems to fall under the umbrella of the human Paladin/priest faith, but I don’t think it has to stay that way though.
Different races offer different cultures and beliefs. That’s what makes the lore fun. I rather be a zandalari prelate who musters the holy energy of my favored loa than a human paladin who receives his/her inspiration from their own different faith.
