Has there been any new info on how Zandalari prelates (Paladins) can use their powers after the death of Rezan? Has their been a replacement loa? I’m excited to race change my blood elf, but I want to rp the appropriate loa for a prelate.
Did Zandalari priest gain their holy magic from Rezan as well? I’m assuming there has to be more than one loa that can provide holy/light magic.
I noticed the mount associated with zandalari Paladins is a direhorn so could the direhorn loa be associated with the prelates now?
I don’t know if any new info has been revealed on the ptr or through some type of datamining, but if there is feel free to let me know. I do not care about spoilers.
That would be pretty cool if that was the case. Their racial is pretty neat where it lets them pick a loa to worship. It seems like they can swap between different loas for their racial so that could work out pretty well if that turns out to be the case (except for maybe bwonsamdi).
You can make whatever case you want. Because here’s the secret. Blizzard does’t define it for any race, and they aren’t likely to in the forseeable future. On the upside that means anyone can take any answer for their character.
I know, but I still like fitting in with the universe to fit in with the rest of the zandalari prelates. It lets me feel like a zandalari prelate and not a zandalari paladin. I want to have racial identity associated with my race/class combo. I’ll probably just end up doing as you say and picking whatever loa and making it work, but if blizzard ever makes a canon loa that is associated with the zandalari paladin, than I’ll switch to that.
I’m hoping Vol’jin ends up being the holy/light loa that replaces Rezan. He was a cool loa.
I noticed they had the tiger loa as the representative for the Paladin class in hearthstone too. But I wasn’t sure if that was anything concrete to go off of since Hearthstone isn’t canon to WoW.
Although that’s a pretty cool choice of a loa for zandalari paladin. I always found Shirvallah or Kimbul to be pretty neat.
They get their powers from the Light, as all Paladins do. I don’t know how the Loa play a part in all that but let’s not go so crazy as to assume it has to do with anything else.
I like attaching the different Paladin organizations with different ways of how they go about finding the light as their own unique personal touch on the class. Humans and dwarves seem to have their religious faith, draenai and Lightforged have the naaru, Tauren use the sun, blood elves used to siphon and now use the sunwell.
The Paladin concept is interesting because technically they are basically all the same thing, but how they go about obtaining their holy/light magic is what intrigues me. It also sets them apart as different groups, despite trying to accomplish similar goals.
Bacially they all take different approaches or paths, but end up with the same power. That’s why I like to try and find a loa to put with them as their “source” of holy light. I hate when the Paladin class gets watered down to the human Paladin fantasy for all the races (nothing against human Paladin lore, but it shouldn’t be applied to all races). That’s why I like trying to figure out the correct loa to worship. I don’t think it’s too crazy to want to try to figure out.
I believe it’s Rezan, but with a big “but.” There may be priests of Rezan who become more “warriors” like that night elf in the paladins class hall.
But from the standpoint of ideals, I think Kimbul (as well as Shirvallah) are more correct, after all Kimbul has just opened his temple to new followers
The way I see it, Zandalari paladins command the Holy Light, but through a middle man. While humans, dwarves etc. may draw from the Light directly, the Zandalari draw from a Loa that draws their power from the light. In the end it’s essentially the same effect, just with a slightly different tinge to it.
Think of it as them using the power of Cherry Coke while everyone else uses Coke Classic.
They way Ive always looked at it is they just have enough faith in what every deity that the light answers them and they take it as if it came from said deity.
This is what I have been thinking. Since AR start at 20, my guy is going to be a prelate “initiate”. In training in the service of rezan when he is killed. He will leave zandalar to forge his own path in the world and grow stronger in the light so one day he will come back k and avenge his Lord.
Oh is that true? I thought he was perma-dead. I know wild gods/loa have come back from death in the past, but I was under the assumption that his circumstance was different and he was unable to revive. I suppose I was misinformed if that’s the case.
I honestly would love it to remain Rezan. I really liked him.
I know I’m just saying that even Tauren paladins specifically use the Light as well. They learned how from Anshe who is most likely a being of the Light.
