Ythisens, you WILL be missed

I didn’t agree with a lot of things he said but and this is a big BUT, he did communicate and was one of the very few. So yeah, he talked with customers… goes against new Blizzards philosophy. Had to fire him I guess.

Sad and a great loss. All it’s going to do is make the community more pissed.

What is there with whistle blow on? Lay offs happen. It’s part of business. And from the sounds of it this was beyond blizzards control.

Unless blizzard is embezzling money or some nonsense there is nothing to whistle blow on.

I’m sorry to hear he’s gone though. I loved his interactions with GD, especially how he handled trolls. I will miss his posts.

They took away the Golden Yak from us. Curse Activision. :frowning:

His role is being outsourced to a low cost country with translation services, so we’ll be sure to get the same form letters that Support gives us now.

Really. If you’re going to cut staff, shouldn’t you cut ineffective people? I really wonder about some of these decisions to be honest.

Are you seriously blaming the community for this? Am I reading this right?

What an absolutely abhorrent thing to say.

It’s just to make room for that 15m CFO man.

The earnings call was a joke - they went on and on about providing a good experience for their players yet further distance themselves from said players. They need more CMs, not less. Bunch of idiots. I think Mike left because he didn’t like where things were heading and they got a yes man in J.

Unless things have changed in last 2 months since my last visit, Diablo CMs are pretty much nonexistent. As much as some complain about our blues posting in fluff topics, at least they actually post on a fairly regular basis.

That’s capitalism!

Whatever souless piece of filth suit and tie moron responsible for this decision can rot in hell for all I care. Hopefully someday he’ll choke on some of those quarterly savings.

Worst part is the other forums are dead with communication. PTR/Class forums dead.

I hate this company more by the day.

Good job Blizzard, you seem to bring Horde and Alliance together to all agree you all are being idiots.

Firing the ones trying. Doing their best to commit to what the consumers asked.

I’m saying that the people protesting by spamming dislikes and making stuff up about the game contributed to this layoff. The toxicity surrounding this game and other blizzard titles has gotten out of control, and its really come to a head here.

I HOPE I’m wrong about that, but right now I’m just really upset about this.

Is this where I say correlation doesn’t equal causation?

Your bias doesn’t keep people employed either.

That’s a huge pity. I’m genuinely sad about this news. I liked Ythisens as a CM. Especially his burns on those who deserved it.

That sucks. I didn’t always agree with Ythisens but it’s really sad to see someone lose their job. I’ve never been laid off, but I imagine it’s like having one of your worst dreams come true.

Even though not all of his posts were down to business, it sucks knowing that communication will suffer when it’s been something that they claim they have been trying to improve.

Blizzard is not the captain of this ship now. Activision is 100% all in like the parasites that they are.

I don’t blame Mike Morhaime for bailing. Smart.
