We arent’ in control of layoffs, We aren’t in control of overpaying a person AKA the new CFO. It’s not our fault, they didn’t provide a service that consumers liked. They weren’t communicating like the consumers wanted (Ythiens was). It’s managements fault and they fire the ones who probably tried.
I hope your right. I just can’t help but think the overt negativity surrounding this game and other blizzard titles has caused this.
Would be very happy to be wrong.
In the end, its just a really sad thing. I’m really upset by it, because he was a really good guy and didn’t deserve this.
Whatever the reasons, I am really upset about this game’s community and its future right now.
Negativity stems from poor to mediocre products. Lack of communication is going to only make it worse IMO.
What does “Dislike WoW or diablo” have to do with a decision to let a CM go?
I have no idea what point you’re trying to make here. Either this was horridly mis-worded, or you have some absurd notion that Blizzard discontent is bringing about the layoffs.
Ythisens, you were my favorite CM by far. For what it’s worth, I don’t agree with this decision. I will miss you, and I hope your future better honors your dreams than today did.
Ancestors watch over you.
You’re probably just feeling strong emotions right now, they will pass.
Careful folks, we got a mod lurking.
It is sad that the business model rewards those who should actually be the ones getting kicked to the curb and the little guy gets nothing but a great big kick in the daddysacks.
I am for sure. Sorry if that upset anyway. Just really upset about this.
Are you SERIOUSLY blaming consumers for Ythisens being laid off? Holy hell your posts are usually terrible but this is a new level of bad.
I’m pretty upset about this myself, but it’s important to remember that it’s not our fault that people were unhappy.
No one got fired because the community has been noisy. People got fired because of profit margins and perceived bloat weighing things down. Blizzard has been doing poorly across the board.
Yes, you could argue that it’s because we don’t like the products they’re selling, but that’s kind of twisting words to blame the consumer. If you open a pizza shop to critical success, but eventually change the formula, and people don’t like it, it’s very childish to blame the people who stopped buying your now lower quality pizza.
I think what you meant to say, perhaps, was that you believe that the toxicity of the community was overboard and resulted in this. Though, in practice, it still boils down to people not liking the product Blizzard was offering.
Again, it’s not our fault that we don’t like something, though I’ll agree we could be nicer about it. At the same time, please remember, that even if we were nicer about it, this probably would have happened. We’d still have been investing less time and money, and that’s the true cause of this.
Are… you serious?
You are blaming the external community for a company deciding to let people go after analyzing their earnings and business units?
The golden yak with the golden egg and Activision cuts us off from such a treasure. Sad.
This isn’t about the players - it’s about corporate greed and treating loyal and often long time employees as disposable. This didn’t just affect Blizz either - it’s division wide under Activision Blizzard umbrella. If anything, getting rid of employees players actually know and most like is more likely to cause a more negative opinion of the company (which they don’t need atm) and drive people away. I get being upset. I like Yth too and will miss him. But I think you’re barking up the wrong tree on this one.
That is absolutely ridiculous. Even if BFA was a complete and utter bomb saleswise it would not have resulted in 775 employees being laid off across 5 companies.
People lost their dream jobs in one fell swoop, man. This is not a place to push a false narrative. I expected you to be better than that.
I think this is my first time agreeing with you on the forums lol. Your absolutely right. People hate on this game for the most miniscule of problems that aren’t worth the tantrum thrown.
For months I’ve seen threads demanding people be fired (anywhere form Yth to Ion) well congrats general discussion you got your wish. People have been fired and their lives or dreams ruined.
It truly is, the end of this sinking ship. Gentlemen, it was a privilege playing this game with you all.
My only concern is how many people let other people tell them what they like. I see it every single day on these forums, on my streams, and around the game in general.
People hate the game and blizzard for no reason.
If you don’t like the product, then stop spending time making others hate it too.
idk just really emotional about this atm.
sorry
Highly doubtful we have any moderators left after today.
