I expect they’ll grab a CM from one of their other game forums, like the Diablo 3 forum, and add this forum to their workload without giving them any additional training or educating them on anything WoW-related. Expect a CM who doesn’t know anything about the game aside from the 10 minutes they probably spent messing around on a starter account.
So much for them not having control over Blizzard. I guess all the previous things were a lie, with blues saying they have no control over operations.
I think he’s looking to avoid that, which is why his own tweet acknowledges he probably shouldn’t be responding right now. Seems he genuinely loved the company so outside of a burst of anger I wouldn’t expect him to badmouth Blizzard moving forward.
So what happens now is that players are left in the dark. Completely. This is way worse than WoD.
Communication is going to hit and all time low now.
maybe improving microtransactions.
It’s going to be a lot of (additional) work placed on few people. Not sure what to say about the situation (or at least a way to say it in moderation). It’s very unfortunate.
I’ll use GM philosophy. Guilty until proven innocent.
“Better communication” doesn’t start with firing the one dude that actually communicated with us. Piss right the hell off, Blizzard.
Do you really believe people would go on the internet and tell lies?
Waiting to see Lore get fired tbh
Think I can with confidence say that was a bad decision Blizzard made. Just a bystander caught in the wake.
I’m cursing like a sailor right now at loosing our Baby Spirit Yak. He put up with us during the good and bad and now he’s leaving us.
Wherever you and other employees go after this I hope you all get snatched up by employers eager to have you all.
Very sad news :c Sad to see you go Ythisens.
That holy yak even played the game unlike the current dev team and understood the flaws with BFA
YTHISENS, we will miss you!.
So sad. I can’t help but think that one of the most impactful members of the company was just let go because of all this nonsense surrounding the game and other blizzard titles.
Its such a sad state of affairs that people act like this as well.
Dislike WoW or diablo or whatever else, but realize doing so just cost a very good man his job today, for pretty much no real reason.
idk, really upset about all this.
I feel for Ythisen’s, as a CM that communicated to the community, they were overall highly respected and in times of stress and angry managed to disperse and calm the community. Activision this is a tragedy. I tremendous loss to your business. Customer relations are important and Ythisen’s was a major part of the communication of that.
Sad they could of afforded to keep paying him if they didn’t give out 15m CFO bonuses.
One of the best CMs we’ve ever had. This was completely undeserved. I am actually upset.
Blizzard is gonna shutdown like one of those fly-by-night companies. Employees will show up for work and the building will be boarded up.
Ok, what? What does this even mean?
