However, following the story as its been told I think its more likely in a “What if” scenario he might turn into the Nightwarrior in that timeline and make the “Ultimate Sacrifice” as he never let Tyrande sacrifice herself… (IMO)

Maybe you wanted to re-examine this. Not to mention that it’s likely Yrel’s Light Army are coming back to the game as future antagonists… which I never said wouldn’t happen, I said I oppose it - and still do - because I consider it bad writing, cliché and possibly author axe grinding.
For all the complain about Sylvanas character arc I don’t think Yrel and nearly enough hate as a character. And they turned her into a fanatic for the Light. Just as Gul’Dan was a fanatic for Fel.
Probably because Yrel is not front and center and easily ignored since most players won’t even encounter it. I’m hoping she simply never gets brought up again.
It’s not fair until there is a road or orc skulls leading to a nice sun filled meadow.
