Farseer is trash casino proc fest and would only be alittle less trash if they rework ele to have the S3/S4 2 and 4pc set bonuses as their own nodes and capstone in the ele tree. Ancestors not interacting with any of our talents is an absolute joke. Ancestors still target random things to attack.
Stormbringer is a meme and similarly doesn’t interact with any talents. Having to take Lava Burst talents feels SO bad as a lightning build (to get to Skybreaker’s Fiery Demise).
Flame Shock having a cooldown is one of the dumbest garbage ideas on the planet.
Ele Blast is probably one of the most painful buttons to press.
2/4pc of the new Ele set are horrible and seriously underpowered compared to Havoc, Feral, Ret, H Priest, Assa, Sub, and Enh.
I love Ele. I truly do.
But Brothers and Sisters, things are looking too grim to bare.
Playing nice and being politely passive have gotten us nowhere.
Edit: Oh god I didn’t even go into survivability!

Bud, Shaman has been poorly treated and forgotten for years. I think most Shamans are tired of trying to fight against Blizzard. Just reroll to another class if you care about cutting edge content or class performance.

I made a destro lock, and top dps all the keys with FAT PULLS into rain of fire spam. It’s a hard rotation and it’s why it pays off with huge damage unlike enhancements simple rotation of 19 million buttons of half builders and half spenders….
I also have
-A strong wall
-Dark pact shield defensive
-Soul Leach passively as a defensive
-Soul Link as another defensive
-Multiple stamina buffs
-Can dispel magic with my pet off myself
-healthstone with soul burn to basically lay on hands myself
Sure would hate to have to sit in ghost wolf like an idiot for a defensive and a 5 minute stam buff I have permanently as a lock and only astral shift.
I can’t ankh, but I guess I could soul stone myself … but there isn’t really ever a need.

Glad to see some kind of confirmation Shaman will be a dead class again. Good thing I have Alts that align much better with their class fantasy.
I want to play shaman because I like to fantasy of totems. But over the course of the game’s development that fantasy has been increasingly pushed away. I was excited for a totemic hero talents but then I saw the model for a generic surging totem. That broke my heart. I thought we were trying to move away from every race sharing the same totem model. Why are we going backwards?
But I guess I can’t expect much from a company that can’t be bothered to provide racial ghost wolf forms… a feature that been asked for over a decade. A DECADE.
I’m furious.

This is a AAA game that made over half a billion in profit last year alone, with a subscription, every other year $50-90 expansions, and in-game transactions, there is ZERO reason for the developers to be so understaffed that Shaman end up spending another expansion playing like its still 2020 with spell effects from 2014 and totems even older.

It’s crazy how two of the classes, Mage and Warlock, you would think to be the squishiest (glass cannon cloth caster) are easily some of the tankiest classes on the roster. Meanwhile, Hunter and Shaman both wear mail and die to basic unavoidable damage in raids because they just lack any survivability.

I’m already planning on re-rolling in TWW. If I want to stay a Healer main, probably go Priest or Druid, or hell maybe even Evoker. For DPS, I’m looking at Warrior or Warlock.
Shaman is just a dead class. Been my main since MOP and it’s just been routinely ignored expansion after expansion.

And going into TWW as far as defensives go…
Warlocks are getting their health stone as a 1 minute cooldown instead of once per combat phase.

What was with the obsession with adding a bunch of short cds to each spec legion onward?
Like heres deluge, cloudburst, downpour, stormkeeper, icefury, sundering, doomwinds, and lets not forget pwave.

Enhance Shaman was always alot of fun to play up until LEGION WHERE IT GOT ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED. It has never recovered. Not only that it is a melee spec that is super squishy since then with mediocre damage.
Ele has been pretty stable over the years except for it’s current state of hitting with wet noodles.
Resto still has to hard cast way too much and pretty low output overall.
I can only sub to this game for a month or 2 a year for the past 4 or 5 years, check things out, then unsub again.
Then post on the forums to try and help the cause only to find most people on the forums just give you troll responses and their catch phrase is then leave. can I have your stuff? L2P noob. lol

Shamans just need to rise up and flood the general area more since they don’t bother looking in the shaman area. Or send in mass tickets.

The class fantasy of a Shaman is my fav, but the combat is a clunky hot mess.
Since the detailed feedback already given has been ignored, i’ll just stick to angry vague posts.
I believe I’ve settled on DK for War Within. Riding horses with some bros.

At least hunters have their shell that makes them immune to damage for a short time. We do not even have that

I actually like slapping people with 5+ lavabursts in 1 global. Yeah they do 1/2 the damage of 1 other class spell, but we get 5 of them pumping. I love flooding my screen with them and their damage isnt that bad.
Theyd have to completely change the mastery if they wanted to make our spells hit harder.

Glad you found a reroll, I hope you enjoy it. The final straw for me was the release date of Aug. 26 being put out. There’s no way shaman get any sort of a functional set up in that short amount of time. I’m a healer for our small M+ group and I am going paladin/druid. I love to dps/tank flex, so that’s what I am doing for TWW.
For all the shaman sticking with it…I truly wish you all the best. For those looking for reroll, I hope you find one. For those quitting, I do not blame you, I would join you if it were not for my friends still sticking around.
To the OP, I feel your pain man. Been around since vanilla, and even back then our fixes to give us any sort of parity was minor compared to our alliance counterparts. Like they never really had a clear vision for the class, at least, in a pve setting. The shaman is just dated. We really need a massive overhaul, for all specs and our class tree and all 3 hero specs are a dumpster fire. It is just not worth it anymore.
Don’t get me wrong, we have had bright spots at times, but it is rare.
