Forest Trolls. Essentially the OG troll race and sadly pretty dunked by the story despite them having the largest empire loss in the past. Also they would be the single buff trolls we ever get since Darkspear and Zandalari are very slim and closes to elves then any other Horde members here. On top of that a nice revamped city in Zul’Aman. Fingers are crossed.
Ogres. Another OG race from the RTS times before Blizzard was bent that all Orc allies we get new are somehow tied to Kalimdor. But these guys have such a rich lore dating back to the Gorian Empire that it is almost criminal they aren’t playable yet. If they can make female Earthen work then this shouldn’t be a problem either. It seems to me the role they should have filled was taken over by the Tauren who are much less aggressive and always tried to opt peace with Jaina mostly. A shame really. But they might fix this mistake next time we go to visit Draenor somehow.
Vrykul. Essentially the progenitor race of humans who were like half giants that used to guard the titan fascilities all over Northrend. The first race for the alliance but the model seems to be working for player gear.
Sethrak. A large fanbase have these guys since BFA and it is baffling to me they chose the Vulpera over the sneks I can’t understand this at all. Their culture is unique and they have a real hub/city/Capital we could have some RP in. Pls Blizzard release them for us I beg you.
Orc variations: Despite in canon Blackrock Remnants and all of the Dragonmaw joined our Horde, their skin options are not avaiable yet. So we might fix that soon. Same idead goes out to Fel orcs.
Ogres for the Horde feel like the big missing one. It is the one option that really feels like it “should” already be there. The only people I’ve seen argue against them have been focused on the impracticality of tall races fitting into the game space (doors etc), but that isn’t an argument against theme or appropriateness. There are certainly other races that would be fun additions for many, and I’m not trying to discount them all out of hand, but Ogres feel like they’re something that is missing from the options.
I’m not sure anything for the Alliance feels as glaring. Which is not to say that there are not many additions that would be welcome to wide swaths of players. Vrykul, Sethrak, Broken to name a few.
High elves are off the table simply because we already have TWO races that looks exactly the same. And Blizzard wants new stuff all the time. See Dracthyr and Earthen.
Night Elf Worgen - The originals, there are still many of them stuck in the dream, we have the cure now that brings them back to their senses and prevent the curse from spreading. It’s about time we set them free and rejoin Night Elf society.
High Elf Forsaken - Hundreds of bodies from the first scourge invasion suspended by magic to prevent decomposition, but unable to come to terms with their deaths. A controversial agreement between Blood Elves with the Forsaken to finally raise them from death and give them a breath of new… undeath.
Literally nothing will. Even if Blizzard added high elves as a separate playable race they’d still be upset that Silvermoon isn’t Alliance and they don’t get the Farstriders and whatever else.
They wanted a race that looks like blood elves on the alliance.
Blizzard agreed and gave them void elves.
they wanted normal options for hair and skintones.
Blizzard agreed again and made it possible.
they wanted leaders who ingame reflected that joining the Horde was a mistake
Blizzard complied another time and had Alleria get a conversation with Umbric in the hope to convince the blood elves of the difference.
now they ask to Silvermoon to become neutral because the Horde doesn’t deserve any elves according to high elf hardliners.
I really hope Blizzard is not giving in again and ruin the fun for millions of blood elf players. That would be bad and unfair.
If there is ever a good analogy to kids who are mad they didn’t get their favorite toy this is it.
Sadly that does seem to be the way things are going. A void themed expansion involving Silvermoon.
I can guess how it will go, the void will attack Silvermoon, new girlboss Alleria will save the day with her “mastery of the void”, the Blood Elves have to let her and her simps back in to protect the Sunwell.
They also made the new Night Elf place neutral so they have to balance it out.
I know but it still would be bad. I didn’t wait for a revamp of TBC zones just so Alleria and her simps can be proven right. That is a massive middle finger considering race capitals were never before given to the other faction.
