I would love to have Nighthuntress Syrenne back from Legion
Go one shot stuff then. Thatâs plenty of solo for you.
Im aware older games (dragon quest) had companions but kotor made them more personable i.e backstory etc, and swtor made them more then just a companion character they have expanded uses like professions.
would the companions be like normal players? in other words, would they sometimes stand in fire, fatfinger cooldowns, run off platforms, taunt the wrong mobs, butt pull extra packs, etc.?
if the answer is yes, how do you think solo players would respond when their key is depleted five runs in a row because their companions keep messing up?
if the answer is no, how will it be balanced so that companion mode isnât the obvious choice at all times?
best game.
âtechnically it existsâ well boom problem solved. cant wait to pay 15$ dollars a month to walk through a hallway and kill braindead monsters that cant hit me. truly game of the year stuff.
it would only be in lower difficulties if in group content at all.
Itâs not a bad idea.
Probably not because a lot of people are too stuck up their own butt & automatically assume itâs going to be bad for the game.
Just suffer. You can hit LFG and go do your dungeon. You wonât die from it. I donât want AI in any MMO RPG.
Didnât WoW already do this with realm mergers at the end of MoP? And now realms donât even matter anymore expect to be in the same guild with a friend
Swtor allows you to solo mode current content below raids with your comps which honestly is great especially with stealth class, which is what most people do dungeons on over there with.
Some specific dungeons they give you a god mode bot that just obliterates everything its kinda amusing it bounces around taunts heals kills.
They killed factions in wrath tbh lfg battle group mergers no longer needed server rep to find groups and the long long period of ninja looting began in full swing.
I donât think this is entirely accurate. I donât think any MMO can expect the same number of players they used to now that there are a lot more to choose from. and just the fact that multiplayer exists in a lot more games also results in people choosing those to play with their friends instead.
I play both WoW and ESO, and I would not consider either in decline. I never have issues finding people to play with in ESO and even going back to âoldâ zones in ESO I see people questing and running around, because of how their scaling works all content is still valid and can get XP/CP etc.
I honestly donât think adding companions is a sign of decline, Iâve never felt ESO was healthier than it is now. I even had a queue to log in the other day.
My original post also didnât go into detail on the feature as WoW people wont care, but its actually a long requested feature that is going to be related to relationships and stuff in the future (like your companions in Skyrim), as a long standing Elder Scrolls feature, just further fleshed out for the MMO.
They also killed factions because people hated it. It went against what Elder Scrolls games were, the go anywhere, do anything, play any race that makes ES games so good. It didnât have anything to do with game population and everything to do with them listening to player complaints (which also resulted in fully scaled world âOne Tamrielâ and the CP system which is extremely alt friendly).
i am so sorry i expressed interest in a cool idea. i will never post on here again to make up for the fact that you thought i was very, very mean to suggest an idea you dont like in a game you clearly dont like. do you even play retail? your posting on a classic character? it seems to me like you just wanna play an oldschool mmo. which fair enough i guess.
Ummm, how do you think boss encounters work
Based on the currently available NPC teammates we see in stuff, I have to press doubt.
so what your saying is that sense it currently isnt fleshed out. fleshing it out would be a bad idea? i dont really get your logic here. duh its very basic. its made for like 2 quests.
I cleared Sire on Heroic and thatâs enough for me. To answer you.
what do you think would happen if this was added? realistically? like whats the worst that could happen? some people enjoy the game more. this wouldnt even affect you as a raider.
Theyâd be great for dungeons. Doing solo dungeons (with AI companions) like SWTOR does would be keen. The rewards and such should be scaled down to account for there being only one actual player but it would still be cool. Would definitely make doing dungeon-quests a lot easier, especially for older expansion dungeons.
