Stop saying Classic is wrong because it’s not like your private server. Your private server is all guess work, it’s not how it really was.

No one who actually played vanilla ever thought pirate servers had it right.
There’s a sane middle ground that’s easy to miss here. Are a lot of things on private servers wrong? Of course. But this is still a beta. There could be bugs. Why are graveyards working differently (some well known death skips are not working as people expected) ? Is the underwater turtle skeleton in Darkshore supposed to stay there after you loot it? Private servers have had it on a 5min respawn which is also what was on well known quest databases.
If people are immediately assuming every difference they see is a problem with Classic, that’s stupid. But it’s almost as stupid to assume that those differences can’t be bugs just because this is an official Blizzard version of the game. IMO unless its something that a private server obviously had wrong it should be reported as a bug so it can be investigated if it’s not something the team has already specifically looked at.

One graveyard that I know 100% was wrong on some private servers is if you die in frostmane hold in Dun Morogh . I vividly remember dying in that cave in vanilla and going to the kharanos gy. Based on comments on streams and from private server videos you spawn in coldridge valley.
Staysafe said imp pets were a lot tankier on private servers. Tips out has said that overpower on off targets was bugged on private servers and both Tips and Staysafe said that some mobs never cast their abilities on private servers. Those are just a few things that are obviously wrong, there are plenty more that I could list.
I would assume more things are correct in the classic beta than on private servers. Right now we have a lot of people who have played private servers for years and they assume that it has been correct for years and then touting private servers as being near perfect when they are not.
With the warlock pet summoning people were remembering how it worked from private servers I think? Then Blizzard said with seemingly absolute certainty that they were wrong so Blizzard probably has more data than private servers had to work with.

There are other sources to justify claiming you know how it works… there is a plethora of crappy 180p videos on youtube and warcraftmovies that show exactly how things did/should work.

Layering is the least bad option. Dynamic respawns = too many consumables (see private servers and their drug abuse problems on raid night). Server merges = people quitting before the servers merge because no one else is on and the refugee mentality (see how people are acting along the southern US border as an allegory and yes the same mentality happened in vanilla when free transfers were offered). Layering is just multiple versions of the same server running concurrently. No instant respawns like dynamic respawns.
Yes, but they’re based purely on what the closest GY in your current zone is. If that’s not how graveyards actually worked, then it’s likely that Classic is correct. But it’s not obvious which is correct at this point imo
I think its a matyer of people using older wow videos and memories of leveling pre 1.12. Im pretty sure since they have the reference client and data they woold know what the numbers are suppsoed to be.

Our of curiosity, I tried that on a recent cmangos server build and I respawned outside of Anvilmar like I was supposed to.
YMMV.
Private servers are vanilla-LIKE aka not 100% correct
