It wasn’t a very interesting or smart topic/first post, it actually went a lot better than it could have ¯ \ _ (ツ)_/¯
To be honest, I was harassed on MG to the point that I was threatened IRL. They were silly threats but it was a threat all the same.
I left. I don’t want to go back. I ignored the person responsible, they made alts to continue doing it. Reporting did nothing. Even reported to Tumblr when said person threw out my personal info on there. Again nothing.
So to hear in the first post that these kinds of things aren’t really valid to this argument means I’m not really going to weigh in very much on it. I agreed with earlier posts so that was my input.
We don’t seem to want to merge. If people want to play on MG, they already do either by switching over or making alts there. This isn’t a hidden council or clique of people, yes we are derailing because that’s what we do.
I’m not sure what more you want, OP. As was said, there’s only so many people that come to forums and probably only a fraction of those even read these kinds of threads.

This is another thing I was going to bring up. This thread started with several pre-emptive bad faith arguments meant to shut down legitimate concerns that play into the validity of the communities existing separately.
In-game tools to combat harassment mean little when you have a guild (or guilds) harassing you via multiple alts in the game and on multiple platforms outside the game.
And that’s only the ‘drama’ issue.
Yes, there’s a different reaction to threads on MG forums. I play on MG as well. The forums here are more active. This ups the banter and silliness significantly.

At risk of overspeculating and generalizing but you got the response you got(lack of seriousness) because the topic is not new or novel. In fact it comes up so often that it’s gotten to the point of being entirely cartoony.
We’re not Blizzard Devs and our feedback in the entire scheme of Blizzards projections for the health and community of the game is inconsequential. Every slump in every expansion someone comes around taking about MG and WrA merging for some grand uptopia of an RP server which gets the same feedback of people not wanting it, the thread devolving into a playback loop of jokes, memes, and personality callouts. Rinse, repeat in 6/12 months.
It’s not an issue of maturity. People are just not invested in the concept or to actively debate about it.
This is in no way disrespect or a personal slight against you. But understand for people who frequent this forum, myself included, get to the point of eyerolling when something like this or similar subjects are brought up.
