He’s gonna pop wraithwalk and slip into the Shadowlands and then slide into your DMs
Good thing the jailer killed my soul and now I’m super dead and went to the shadow-shadowlands 2.
You’re in the Jailer’s chest cavity :0
Hello everyone, I appreciate all the feedback but I can say just from posting this same post on both servers the responses here paint a picture of what WRA holds… Most responses here lacked a mature take on the subject except from maybe 4 posters. MG only saw activity of 4 well written responses and constant attempts to derail the posts main topic were made here.
I guess it comes down to who’s ready and who’s not. Culture can be defined as the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called “the way of life for an entire society.”
As WRA stands when I log into the similar cliqued based RP environment (my reason for saying the same 20 rpers, you all are amazing) I don’t really consider it to be a society with set rules that everyone knows- Hell… I don’t even know half of this culture people speak of and I’ve been here for quite a minute.
You all may have seen me as the bald elf Vontaire. I only opted for more people to share a story with- exclusion is never fun, and prejudging the state of a realm based on past experiences is stagnant and no way opening the grounds for change.
MG seems to have the more mature approach while the display here is lacking similar comparison.
Alternatively, the vast majority of the responses are, “WrA does not want it.”
One side does not have to ‘be ready’ for something that is unlikely to happen.
We gave our reasons:
A) If the game picks up again after a hypothetical WrA-MG merger, there will be queue times galore, server lag galore, and sharding on an RP realm which we have time and time again had to ask Blizzard to remove when it has popped up.
B) People on WrA dislike the server culture of MG. The RP styles between the two are remarkably different, even if some people say otherwise.
C) ‘Realm pride.’ A lot of people in this thread have been on WrA for a very long time, and if they wished to go to MG they already would have. Some have toons on both realms for when they might wish to partake in one over the other.
D) Blizzard’s current report and ignore systems are poor. You handwaved this away earlier, but it bears repeating. The ignore system, as it stands, is terrible. All it does is block you from seeing what the other person says. It does not protect you from them. The report system and CS is similarly awful. It took something like 4 or 5 tickets for me to get my harasser punished so that they stopped. This was over a period of several months.
Your responses here indicate a lack of maturity, actually-- and I know some here might think I’m taking some sort of bait by continuing to respond. Even if you do not agree or dislike our reasons, or believe they are weak reasons (i.e. D) they are reasons nonetheless.
The current reduction in populations is across the game as a whole. If the game picks up, which depends on the state of Blizzard and the next expansion announcement, things will get better for WrA and MG.
Were they to merge MG and WrA, I do not believe I speak just for myself when I say people would quit.
You see, you respond as if I’m creating a combative space for feedback. Most of the responses here are combative or trying to pull a string… I only stated that several attempts were made to derail the main topic. And that those who are ready for the idea are ready, and those that aren’t, are not. I did not disagree or agree but simply remained neutral.
I pointed out that the way things were handled here give a preview of what the server holds. And I appreciate your condensing of the main points made in this thread. And to speak of “We” as if there is a hidden council or clique of people that are taken into consideration when a server wide request for feedback is made is a bit… scary.
Damn.
There goes our only bald elf.
Well, I hope you’re all happy. We were on the cusp of having real follicle diversity in here.
Us as the consumer/player aren’t able to decide what isn’t likely or what is likely. Blizzard has proven this wrong many times as they hold the hammer, but- feedback is feedback and everyone’s voice is equal when it comes to sharing. I appreciate all the posts, perhaps a similar thread made in a healthier expansion would give some different viewpoints/perspectives.
That’s just the way the WrA forums are. You can go onto nearly any forum post here (barring perhaps event ads) and see it happens in just about every single one. It’s an open joke here that we keep on topic for the first 10 posts maximum.
The forum cabal lives and breathes.
It’s fun and adds a bit of flavor. I do like that as it reminds people the game is still alive. MG might have given four posts… but that was it- only four posts… sad sight when it’s a server wide request for input.
The vast majority of people playing on a server probably do not visit the forums, especially given the prominence of Discord and in-game chatter to keep up with.
Tis true. I only come here to advertise and bump advertisements.
Otherwise we’re all in discord chatting it up.
And tossing chairs!
That’s just dodge practice!
The derailing of the topic -is- part of the culture here. Wyrmrest isn’t as serious as MG, which might come as a shock to the old reputation it used to have about being the ‘elitist’ server, something I saw parroted even on Bloodsail when I was in Classic.
Any new environment is gonna take some time to learn. And the fact that you are having trouble adjusting is extra icing on the cake of not merging the servers. We are different rp ecosystems, not better. Not worse. Different. And whichever you choose is the best choice for you.
Agreed, Thomas. Derailing is definitely part of what we do. It happens in threads, it happens in discords, it happens in RP.
And it’s okay!
We don’t need to be serious all the time. This is our fun time, our escape from reality where we can be elves and trolls and human ghosts! Hop in and enjoy the ride.
Seconded. I don’t necessarily need more Alliance RPers for this character if I can simply have an easier time making new and exciting Horde friends.
We are extremely elitist about who gets kissed in this server.
It’s me, I get all the kisses.
