Have to agree that the current design is really unenjoyable. I’ve been playing since Vanilla and have always enjoyed solo queuing bg’s for fun in the evenings. Premades were never this prevalent before, and I don’t think people should be forced to premade when they just want to pvp for a couple hours.
If they just made premades queue into each other and let pugs play together the situation would resolve itself. Competitive minded players would get to play real matches vs other teams and pugs can enjoy more evenly matched battlegrounds.

8-10 games out of 10 are against premades Tuesday through Thursday.

Ah but there is the issue, premades dont want a challenge or PVP. They want honor and a PUG stomp. I to solo qued a ton in Vanilla and my warlock still has his Knight captain title. It was a blast, and no there weren’t nearly as many premades, just like there werent as many radiers.

Or maybe pugs can just go to retail

Yep, this is exactly the point and this is also why premades in this fashion are against the spirit of the entire pvp system.
Yes, I said spirit of the system…with the goal being each side has a chance to win.
It’s amazing this still has to be explained to people…
But there is a reason you can’t just ban premades from fighting vs pugs in Classic:
The entire vanilla pvp system is based around it. Yes. Seriously. Still confused?
The only thing that matters for ranking up in the vanilla pvp system is your total honor per week, relative to your faction… Your total honor is a product of:
- Time you invest into farming honor
- The RATE at which you gain said honor
That’s it. That’s the entire system.
Your premades in this case are simply using their group to dramatically improve #2 (their rate of gain) , and often colluding among their faction to reduce #1 (their weekly time spent honor farming) .
The entire incentive for grouping at all in vanilla pvp comes entirely from the ability to pubstomp pugs rapidly and improve that honor /hour metric. The system is literally designed around it.

No offense dude but the reason why we’re playing classic is because we liked vanilla’s gameplay.
Yall are destroying that gameplay because you want in game items. Retail was the result of y’all’s wants and desires, not ours.

Problem is if you made it premade vs premade it would go the same way as BGs for twinks. They would stop forming and find other ways to leverage the honor per hour in their favor. At that point people would be in here complaining about queues or whatever unintended consequence came from it.
Solo queuers are cannon fodder. You are always going to be in a game designed around being social. Change your approach or accept your fate.
Have you tried not sucking? Or maybe getting a group in this MMORPG?
Face it, everything in an MMO is harder when you solo, and it has always been like that.

I suggested limiting the number of premades a solo player can face per day or per week. I’m not even going as far as saying only premades face premades.
No one needs that info outlined, we all know that.
This was always weird /dumb to me as well… The weekly bg holidays don’t start until Friday. I mean I understand chronologically why they want to farm earlier and then cut the brackets so they can monitor any potential bracket breakers, but they’re literally also half as efficient honor /hour wise than a hypothetical group that played the same amount, but on better days.

You can rage all you want, however, I don’t see the point. If it’s that terrible, just don’t play. I’m not sure why you would to get all worked up over a game.
So like when Method tried to hit 60 first as a guild, did they beat a guy who was solo?
Oh your just making this up. This isnt a gacha game we don’t need whales an krill. The ranking system should never have been implemented.
Whatever dude I had a killer week in AB last week. Premades were like 1 in 6 or 7 instead of every single game and I was actually able to enjoy the game for the first time in several weeks.
This week has just been a long string of 0 honor games until finally I just gave up and went back to waiting in AV queues and watching netflix.
Screw you guys man. You’re going to end up getting pre v pre anyways, you’re just locking pug players from being able to participate at all.

The ranking syztem should never have been implemented?
If thats how you feel then why ft are you playing classic?

People wanted classic, warts and all. The PvP ranking system was toxic trash back in the day, and it is toxic trash now. Don’t worry, TBC Classic is coming, and the brackets will go away as Arenas take the stage.

Dude vanilla was a lot more than it’s ranking system. You’re stupid if you can’t distinguish between vanilla and retail upon any other premise.

I’m just wondering how the Discord/Premade community would feel if BG’s REQUIRED a group to que…ie. no more solo players could que. The argument has always been to “form your own premade” and “have social interaction in a social game”. What if it was required? Would you guys be ok if Blizz made people do what you suggest?
Or maybe premades don’t want to play with meme specs or pugs that refuse to defend flags. Maybe they are utilizing a feature implemented and deemed fair by blizzard to ensure they actually have a healer. Literally trying to shame players for coming prepared. The “all they want to do is pug stomp” is a weak insult thrown everywhere when noone can point out an actual exploit. Is this a fair system? I’d go on to say it isn’t, but it’s how it was in 1.12.

It would spurr more people into action resulting in less apathy regarding them on servers where people don’t generally engage with them.
It’s not ideal imo, but it would absolutely be preferable to pug v pre.
There is no excuse for pug v pre. Every match is a dumpster-fire.
