Dragonball Z was the first one I paid attention to.
Yu Yu Hakusho was my personal favorite shonen.
Death Note is probably my favorite.
Black Butler was entertaining.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was a really close second.
My military buddy had a thing for Robotech.

Digimon and Pokemon were the first “anime” I watched.
But what got me into the anime world has to be Big O and Inuyasha.

My first anime was either Code Geass or FMA: Brotherhood. Can’t remember.

Either way, both are solid 9/10s for me.

I bought the Manga series for my son, yet he hasn’t read it yet. Good to know it’s worth it, they were expensive!

Fairy Tale at my friends house. It was all in Japanese, only reason I liked it. Only anime I’ve ever watched, unless you count Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Oh, and I used to watch Pokemon.

Akira & Appleseed, watched them back to back in one night when i was little (was staying at a relatives place and they had the VHS of them and i couldnt sleep so snuck them off to watch)

The 1980s Astro Boy series, special Canadian dub. I still love this series to this day.

As an adult (after they started calling it Anime here in the states), Escaflowne follow by Chobits.

As a kid, Starblazers Space Battleship Yamoto 2199. Back in like 79’. Would watch it at like 6:00AM before going to school. I had no idea it was “Anime” until I saw a copy at a best by as an adult.

I don’t really watch anime but the first anime I watched was I think spirited away as a kid but as for actual anime series it would be beastars on Netflix which I absolutely loved it was amazing imo

Just an edit it could of actually been Pokémon or Dragon Ball Z lol I don’t remember my childhood well
