Your Favorite Lore Plot Hole

Everyone knows at this point that this game’s writing is far from stellar, often contradicting itself in funny ways. What’s your favorite plot hole or unusual writing choice?

I think my favorite was a little nugget I found on the wowpedia timeline.

The Council of Tirisfal finds a way to empower a champion permanently with their powers, in order to fight threats that the Council can’t handle by themselves.

So. You make… one superpowered person using all of your powers. To deal with something all of you couldn’t together. I fail to see how this resolves the problem lol

Because you’re granting a single individual powers that they can singlehandedly utilize, rather than having to rely on multiple individuals that need to coordinate. It’s simply more efficient, and therefore is a net power gain.

Every single living person in Suramar was murdered by the Nathrezim who used it as a practice ground in developing a new form of shadow magic called ‘necromancy’ during the war of the Ancients. Some of the Night Elves are even shuffling about as Zombies.

Tyrande and Malfurion are devastated that their city, which they lived in, was completely genocided.

Rhonin even comments how the destruction of Suramar was the true beginnings of what would one day develop into the Scourge and destroy his own homeland.

Then along comes Legion and… well, we just forget all that happened.
They literally and literarily had a sphere of [+5 PLOT ARMOUR] retconned in.

My favorite plot hole is how the Alliance has never done anything wrong in 20 years despite being led by humans.

You know, because humanity is so pure and wholly without malice or something like that.

Thrall cheated yet acted like he didn’t and no one called him out on it. Garrosh deserved better.

Oh. I thought you meant most hated.

Spaceships

The Vindicaar being in orbit over Azeroth should mean no new continent discoveries, and absolute military supremacy

Instead, it’s just “out of order, sorry!”

Well, the devs don’t want the Horde to be victimized by the Alliance because it would require the Horde actually losing to the Alliance. They’ve only done it a handful of times and Horde still cling onto those.

We still see Taurajo being equivalent to Teldrassil posts to this day.

most of the legion quest writing either contradicts itself or it’s full of nonsensical tactical and strategic decisions on both sides. ( such as genn taking basically the entire air fleet to chase after sylvanas when they are SUPPOSED to be fighting the legion…GOOD JOB GENIUS.)

Sargeras is in cosmic jail for wiping out countless worlds and going against the titans who have also wiped out countless worlds. But you know they did it for like order and stuff so totally cool bruh!

One of my favorite is the fact they claim the Night warrior has the power to kill an old god. but they never explained how the night warrior powers almost lost to a human with a bow.
