we have no idea what they are going to do, but since weâre just BSâing about it. I wouldnt mind a character transfer with 500g and our pre-raid dungeon BiS set, a stack of 20 mats skills are the only thing that can come with us.
In all honesty, they are probably just going to progress the servers and MAYBE offer a copy of your character onto a new classic server.
Be careful posting your opinion about TBC Classic on these forums, thereâs about a dozen or so posters that will completely swarm you if your opinion differs from theirs. These specific individuals constantly refresh the forums, waiting for someone to post about TBC, and god forbid you suggest fresh servers or starting at level 58.
I could see at most a gold âresetâ limiting the amount of gold characters will be able to continue with to a TBC server, but even that is controversial and likely pointless.
I can just as easily say I do not see why people would want to regrind 200 hours of gameplay they already did in leveling. But I understand that doesnât qualify me to say âYou will notâŚâ
If they fail to provide the most basic part of TBC (Progressing your existing characters) iâll be dropping it entirely, itâd be such a failure on blizzardâs part that there would be no point in even playing at that point.
âYou will not bring your classic characters to TBCâ is a declarative statement, not an opinion.
If you want my prediction, I think that blizz is going to do a mix of fresh servers and rollovers. That way everyone will be happy, save for people like the OP who want to everyone to be forced to play the game on their terms.
Everything you said, plus all classic characters should be deleted, and do not patch in XP nerf that happened mid TBC. Should be full vanilla XP plus full TBC XP for 70. Thatâll increase the sub count for sure.
Iâd agree if the premise were a fresh lvl 1 character, but if weâre talking about lvl 58 template characters that can jump right into Hellfire Peninsula, Iâm not so sure.
Because people have put / will put an ABSURD amount of time into wow classic gearing their char up as much as possible. Why would they want all that progress to be for nothing with fresh characters in BC.
tBC is one of the reason I quit classic after getting my lock full bis from MC. I cant wait for classic-b.c but im not spending the next year and a half on classic wow to lose my progress with b.c.
Character copies better be the way they go. Character copies with a gold limit of like 100g per char and the removal of all items outside of the armor youre wearing/quest rewards.
If you want a fresh character when tBC drops so you have to spam dungeons at 70 to get ready for raid, then have at er! but why make everyone do that
I didnât start playing until BC and of course the people who had been playing longer had a head start on me. So what? I was still able to level and raid along with them when I got there.
I want it because itâs always been that way when expansions come out. People would have quit long before now if they had to start fresh every time the story advances with each one.
He didnât present it as an opinion. He presented it as if it were fact. Rebuttals are to be expected.
I donât care if someone starts TBC with 100k gold and alts loaded down with black lotus. It wonât affect my ability to level, get attuned, and start collecting motes/the new herbs.
Going into TBC with lots of money will be helpful, sure. But I canât think of any old world stuff thatâs going to be insanely useful in TBC. Maybe Iâm wrong.
Believe that there should be a version of each expansion as wow isnât one game it is like 5 games before I quit. Allowing people to have a classic, tbc, wrath, cata, and retail character would actually be kind of cool. But while I want mirr to stay in classic and make a tbc char if tbc is released and a character transfer or automatic character copying is allowed I believe it would be best to keep people in classic in classic and if they are automatically upgraded gear will lose its value.
The reason I quit was because gear would lose its value over time. But as per your gold argument inflation would likely mean that players would probably be better off earning gold in tbc classic than in classic imported to tbc.
