Well that is why I am saying accept that this will be what heads into launch. Just be ready for the crash the comes with this covenant system coming in contact with the masses of WoW players that return for the new expansion.
I have my popcorn ready for the tsunami of tears that will flood the forums.
They will leave it in for the first couple of patches to please the meaningful choice screechers, and then when they end up taking a break from the game Blizzard will pull said ripcord in 9.2 to appease the free choice crowd who hate the game but continue to play it anyway.
Look at all the people who complain about the sh*t show that is Corruption; so many of them have full BiS Corruptions.
Look at all the people who complain about Essences; so many of them have BiS rank 3 Essences.
Look at all the people who complained about the awful Neck Grind; so many of them had extremely high level necks.
Blizzard will go to live with the current system because the meaningful choice parrots will love them for sticking to their guns. The people who hate the system will continue to complain on the forums whilst still participating in the game in order to play with their guild and get AotC, CE, etc.
Then when the new expansion shine wears off, they will make the free choice crowd happy by pulling the ripcord and they will get praise for “listening to feedback”.
Happened in WoD with flying. Happened in Legion with artifacts and people trying to play multiple specs. Happened in BFA with account wide essences, Azerite respec, corruption vendor, and it most certainly will happen with Covenant abilities in SL.
Interrupting a spell and changing what it does are 2 completely different things.
Interrupting a spell stops the spell from being cast; hence “interrupt”.
Changing what the spell does, is exactly that - but that means that the spell was cast - meaning that it was NOT interrupted.
I would recommend checking out a dictionary to review the definitions of the words you’re trying to use before attempting to tell other people what they mean.
A simple pragmatic difference in game would revolve around the Lively Spirit Azerite trait. A spell that was cast (but redirected) would still count towards the bonus - but a spell that was interrupted, would not.
The spell getting change does the job of a interrupt. If im going to do this, i don’t want it to be interupt so it is in the same group as one. It is replacing an interrupt job by preventing something from happening. So I never said it was, I said we are getting something like it.
It is that simple, if you can’t understand that. You are wrong. That is all that needs to be said.
