Well as someone who once played the original D&D in high school, I still found it irritating.
The last time I heard of a GM popping up I think was an asmon stream. It was someone that was in the beta / alpha and they were basically trying to brute force thru parts of the environment. Someone could probably explain it better than my wonky memory. Either they got too far and the GM popped up all “no” or the GM was watching the stream and waited til the streamer asked about Blizz for them to pop up. Or maybe it was a mix of both.
Back on Lightbringer GMs used to sit flying over Goldshire and randomly sheep people.
This was back in BC and WotLK, haven’t seen one ever again.
Also you could have added GM names to your friends list and see when they came on lol.
Have seen a GM twice, both times during vanilla, once during the blood plague and once when my raid group 15 manned Ony… we all exploded and died after we saw him
I miss when you used to actually talk to them, during BC when i was on SoE (i dont know if certain GM’s handled a single server or not) there was one i would talk to a fair bit.
True story. During MoP we killed Thok progression raiding and he dropped no loot. Back then you could get a GM on the spot. They came in our raid, reset the boss and one shot him so we could loot him. Was really awesome.
They should have GMs run guilds too
Like official blizzard guilds
So you could join a player guild, which could be ran however
Or some official blizzard guild… so they can host events and raids and things… as the game was intended to play
Blizzard guilds will always be full and always being doing things
Oh there would be so much drama the second they get a good loot from the vault.
No they are company people
They dont need loot
i wonder if blizz is sending all the loot to the gms in lieu of paying them
I mean you know the “streamer loot” drama, right?
