Twinks are simply elite geared characters in locked level brackets. Anyone can choose to play like this, or to pass on by. Instead of end game being the only place to reside with all the best gear, there’s over a dozen brackets to put yourself in to. Each bracket offers a different experience and game play style. It’s actually a little more relaxed than end game PvP. You can set your own pace and treat it as a hobby.
PvP was never intended to be a pleasant learning experience, or a pleasant experience for new players. There was a time when PvP gave no XP, as I’m sure you are aware. If you are experienced and are leveling through PvP your biggest disadvantage will be your personal skill. Sometimes I find that after all the time spent in a bracket or two, leveling PvP is by far the most rewarding. I perform pretty much just as well leveling as I do as a static twink.
I’m seeing a lot of old regulars in the BGs, and I’m certain that Blizz is seeing an uptick in participation as well. If the twinking gets tweaked or nerfed yet again I’ll probably leave, again.
Back in the Vanilla days it was almost fashionable to hate on twinks. A lot of people who were bitter about them didn’t really know what they were lol. I’m seeing the same viral disdain happening again. It’s oddly funny, but an inevitable part of human nature, I guess.
Throughout all of legion gear was nearly irrelevant in pvp. Stat templates put everyone on a level playing ground. The queue didn’t need to be separated anymore.
Now that gear matters again they need to be separated once more.
I know… they do all kinds of non-value added things like taking objectives instead of doing what they’re supposed to do like camp the GY or farm the middle. Levelers… sheesh.
And the BFA gear scaling system has done exactly the same.
The “Templates” are now hidden within a controlled cap on all stats that can be obtained by gear and weapons.
Gearing options were completely normalized for BFA.
BFA is the most casual friendly gearing this game has ever seen.
The endless crying about templates in Legion and the silence in BFA is evidence enough that you are lying through your teeth. Why are twinks so happy in BFA when they were so unhappy in Legion? Explain that.
In legion there were no enchants, stats were normalized, and it was based entirely on ilvl. And even ilvl was only a negligible increase per 10 ilvls.
The facts are there for you to see.
BFA is the easiest expansion to gear a character in the history of World of Warcraft
The most casual friendly experience this game has ever seen.
using a full set of enchanted heirlooms goes a super long way right now. I think the hardest part of pvp lvling right now would be finding decent rings for each barcket.
I have been thinking of making a guide on that from 20-60 at least. Idk about after 60 because I have better methods of lvling after that and 10-20 can be super quickly in a more gimmicky way that I wont get into because blizz will nerf it.
Agreed, I do hope that they better balance the lower brackets, mainly the op non enchant procs/trinkets. But as to Valarien, how casual friendly do you want it to be? No matter how casual it is except in legion you have always needed a bit of gear(tended to be heirlooms), which people usually enchanted as a result. Both in PvP and PvE this was the case. Legion templates in my opinion were worse and still would be worse to have due to the lack of customization/static state of your class. Meaning, whatever they tuned your class to be in PvP you couldn’t migate that through secondaries or stats, it was static, you would either be good or bad on based on your template for the time until they nerfed or buffed you which could take months. You couldn’t change anything, so eventually you would just be repeating the same motions with no ability for diversity due a combination of variables outside of your control, it was not fun at all. At least in this regard, you keep your customization and choice, all while only needing a little bit of effort towards your gear in PvE(like usual) and still yet PvP(every expansion but legion).
Died? no…but it was invalid. the so-called ‘majority’ that was so vocal in Wrath and TBC turned out to be a small sad minority when they were picked out from the population and separated (through xp gain being added to bg’s and xp off option being implemented for bg qeueu).
It was actually pretty sweet. the forums stopped complaining. the twinks were free to thrive or not thrive…no one cared. no one posted.
they eventually started to post “is the 39 bracket dead?” etc.
it died off…rather just became invalid. I remember seeing posts claiming 1 hour + wait times for the twink bracket. yet you claim it never died.
so…back to current day. they allowed twinks back in general population.
there’s havoc again
there’s forum posts again
there’s disastifaction again
there’s twinks posting defensive posts again
its 2005 all over again literaly
You know nothing of this subject, meaningless rant from someone who wasn’t even there.
Twinking is very much supported by Blizzard within the new BFA system, this is the current game we are playing.
