Continuing the discussion from Should the Community Council be dissolved?:
Appreciate it Fuzzy! Let’s discuss!
A little purpose that you do well feels better than a big purpose that you have no chance of fulfilling imclgo.
lol yw yeah I read your bit and saw the last bit and thought of the gif.
In all fairness, it does fit to a degree. Your purpose is to make the community / blizz look good. You figured out the purpose and you’re like, “oh god…” lol XD
I do feel like polls would be a more specific and efficient way to give developers feedback on what the players want in aggregate.
I’m just a smuck though who is desperately holding on to hope that this is not the true purpose and that everything will change next year. Thats why I still plan to reapply for Council but I’m afraid that post may have stunted my chances lol
It may have stunted or increased it! Who knows but hey I understand 100%
I apply and I never get in but idk if I even want in. Looks like a big hassle.
I would be ok with this if the voting was with 1 toon but apparently you can swap toons and just keep voting.
The flaw of internet polls… even something as simple as a website poll can be circumvented using user-agent switching.

Yeah, theres a post on the CC requesting a Bnet tied forum system that I commented on in the middle of the year that would cut down on such trolling but crickets on that thread.
It amazes me those people thought their feedback was going to be the only consideration given to changes. No company is going to give a tiny group say over their future.
It is an idea that shouldn’t be implemented because it would cause more problems than it would solve.

They don’t need more data. They have plenty of data, just by looking at what’s out there.
The problem is that the developers are so arrogant in their Ivory Tower that they don’t care what people think or want or feel.
We see this EVERY TIME in Alpha & Beta testing, where the alpha & beta testers are consistently ignored, even when they’re giving specific feedback on something Blizzard asked about.
They could also put polls on the launcher, and only let people who have bought the relevant game vote for example. It would need to be one per bnet though, not one per license.
If people buy the game 10 times to vote, I suppose that is a possibility but should not break the game if hundreds of thousands of regular players are voting.
What’s the point of CC if only a few out of 100 have discussions.
I haven’t visited the CC forum section lately, but the last time I visited it seems only bits of pieces of blue responses have been made.
A very few CC people will have actually discussion interaction.
There’s a thread for that. Might want to go put your specific feedback here: Can we get account wide ignore? - #8301 by Stormfury-blackwater-raiders

I called that from the very beginning.
I’m expecting participation to be very low among those who were accepted. But we’ll see.
If you DO want to do something like a community council… Blizzard is going about it all wrong. Their sample size is too small, too fragmented, they don’t have critical mass on any single issue for discussion, and their selection methods were absurd.
It amazes me those people thought their feedback was going to be the only consideration given to changes. No company is going to give a tiny group say over their future.
I can say this right now, your concerns are also our concerns. Most of us browse the forums constantly (myself included). As an active player and member I look at where non council members concern lies and I try to elevate it for discussion among the Community Council members. I know I’m probably one of the most common CC faces in the GD right now but we are not some randomly selected bypassers that only voice our own concerns and ideas.
So when our “tiny group” makes a post? We’re actually taking info from you guys as our basis, we are elevating you as well.

I am merely just one of the 100 CC members who do actively post across the forums. You also have to remember we are not all just NA players. Some of them are also from the EU who were forced to create trial accounts just to be considered among the CC because there is no EU CC. It’s literally all NA focused.
It’s also been an established pattern from the beginning that the most common time you’ll see a CC member posting is when the CC itself is being brought up. Then the troops all pour out of the barracks to defend it.
It’s really not a good look.
we are elevating you
Phrasing like this doesn’t help, either.

I do wish there was more of a way to interact with the community council in a way other than well… just making a thread with a quote etc.
Maybe open up a way to send suggestions or something to a cc member option in the game? Like the suggestion box but it is screened for inappropriate stuff etc then gets read by the CC / whoever else.
Btw the purpose of the thread above was for a little bit of a laugh with a mix of continued discussion on the GD side, so please try to keep everything civil in here everyone. Thank you.
