In vanilla my server Dark Iron had an hour long queue, they offered free xfer’s and enough left to fix it.

No need to lock a server, there are people who are not subbed that will want to join their friends on Herod.

The playerbase of Herod (and any full server) needs to realize that unless attrition hits very hard, it will likely be that the server will be untenable once layering is removed. Blizzard will probably be offering server transfers at that point, so you will need to coordinate with your groups/guilds on that (or be ready to re-roll on the new server your group transfers to).

There’s no need to lock a server if the queue times are working as expect to deter people from playing/creating on a full server.

I myself want to see the servers stop for three whole days straight, for upgrades and to have at least a 3 hour wait queue most times I log in, for that true vanilla experience. Hell, it’s what I’m paying for.

what a stupid thing to say

Well, for any of us that played vanilla, wait times were def a part of it. I’d enjoy seeing a waiting queue. I’m sure you’d /wrists but I’ve had pubes for ages, and it is pure nostalgia for me as a day one Blackrocker.

I’d enjoy seeing a waiting queue

LOL

like u actually need to be flamed for being this INTELLIGENT

wtf

but I’ve had pubes for ages

imagine wanting to wait in a queue when u barely have any years left to live

Oh flame me pls, I think I’m a bit too thick skinned for your prepubescent rhetoric.

But tell me, aren’t you going to miss playing internet Barbie or are you rolling female night elf again while being a middle aged man with no social skills?

I don’t want a mega server either. 3-5k pop max

Where did you get that info?

They are making it up, of course. I can’t wait to gank them.

Mega, this is literally an understatement.

The resources including Black Lotus will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO low in price. Dude, on pservers they’re around 100g each. On retail with layering, I expect them to be under 10g. All of the layers are on 1 AH LOL.

I would be fine with even 10k.

If Herod lost 90% of it’s pop, I’d believe it’s still over 10k.

They didn’t in vanilla. Blizzard had to threaten to move people against their will if people didn’t start transferring. They said that if people didn’t start transferring they would transfer us themselves and no guarantee you would end up with your friends when it was over. Of course that opened the flood gates.

It doesn’t look like very many people left herod for stalagg. People think someone else will move so I don’t have to. Especially if they already got the name they want.

This is actually interesting if true. I guess they’d probably be like “The people that came in within this X amount of people will get to stay, while the X amount of people that came after will get transferred.” This could possibly be a good fix. And if people don’t get with their friends, they’d get free transfers.

WTF IS THIS ACTUALLY A GOOD IDEA?

Yes but we are asking the chunky monkey where it got server population stats from? I think there’s some porky pies being told in this thread. 600k indeed.

Do you even know who many can fit on current retail servers? What do you think is the max population a given city can hold?

They wouldn’t get free xfers because everyone would end up back where they were to start. Plus, blizz already gave them the chance to move and they didn’t.
