For some reason people on here think everything is binary and it either must be super hard or face roll.
You can not want it to be face roll, while also not wanting it to be Mythic raid hard. It’s about wanting actual gameplay. There is MASSIVE grey area between the two.
Twisting Corridors isn’t the solution.
And people still have to do the other runs for soul ash every week. Forcing people to do something that is already a mindless slog week 4 of a 2 year expansion is not a good solution for everyone.
Torghast has gone through many iterations since it was first announced. At that time 8.3 was in the process of being released, and it sounded like horrific visions on steroids. A few easy floors so casuals could farm mats for their mandatory legendaries, and hard content upstairs with excellent rewards.
Some people liked horrific visions, some loved it. But there were a fair number who hated it and decided to take a break until shadowlands because of it. Coercive measures intended to force casuals to get the cloak and run horrific visions in order to cleanse their worthless 375 gear they got from world quests failed. BfA had turned into a ghost town by the time the prepatch hit.
But even though they knew casuals would hate Torghast as it was planned, they still needed it as a currency dispenser.
I’m guessing they figured on starting it out easy, then ramping up the difficulty and annoying mechanics and mobs. Casuals wouldn’t notice, because they’re too stupid. They would just have to step up their game, and top players wouldn’t mind the difficulty ramping up on content that had previously been easy for them.
Unfortunately, the stealth changes that came down on Tuesday were impossible to miss. Perhaps it was purely incompetence that buffs were so large. Or fortunately. Within a day there had been many threads by players who had canceled their subs, with hundreds of responses agreeing they had done the same.
In any case, they went into triage mode. Ion’s claim that they made the trash harder so casuals without adequate gear would figure out by getting wrecked by trash exactly what the secret ilvl requirement was is ridiculous.
Tell people what ilvl is required so they can just quit if you don’t intend casuals to do the content.
No they aren’t. There’s RP, pet battles, adventuring, exploration and many many other things. You’re the one limiting yourself with the ash factory obsession.
Nah, your wording was weird. I don’t think its ‘challenge’ content. Again, you love that word. I just think its content they intended the player to have to overcome. Not just show up under geared and with no thought put in and accomplish 2 days after it launched.

And to those who argue that Torghast IS a numbers game as well, can you do CN with a group of ilvl 160s? No. The numbers won’t let you. But I could do layer 8 with a ilvl 161. It just took THINKING and USING YOUR CLASS to it’s fullest potential.
EDIT: I actually enjoyed being pushed to learn my class this deep. Raids and M+s don’t do that, btw.
EDIT 2: It did rely on a little RNG from anima powers. But you don’t need to get lucky with just one or two setups.
