Why did all these super hardcore players stop playing everquest when vanilla came out?
Wow isn’t a hardcore game nor ever meant to be except by accident. (hence why things get nerfed) It’s appeal is that it appeals to many.
Go to any hardcore gaming community and brag about being a hardcore Wow player, they’ll look at you like a New Yorker looks at someone from Barrie, Ontario
I don’t have an answer for you. All the layers feel the same now and redundant.

Twisting Corridors is an 18-layer ‘super-Torghast’. There is no Endless mode and the way they’re doing things like limiting power stacks is antithetical to implementing an Endless mode.

You’ll beat layer 8 easily.
Why do so many people on these forums think that not wanting content to be face roll equates to wanting everything to be hardcore challenging.
There is GIANT space in the spectrum between face roll and uber hardcore.
Content does not need to be one or the other.

If you can beat an elite in open-world Tirna Scithe then you’ll solo layer 8 easily.
No, they did not ruin it, I spent three runs at layer 8 solo as a tank and it was slow and came down to a single RNG at the last vendor. The bosses were not possible to solo at ilevel 178 if you failed to get the smoke bombs.
#1 it is entirely too long to take an hour to get to the final boss
#2 the final boss was tuned for probably ilevel 200 or something seriously higher than most people are now
#3 the rng at the end is a complete BS move
I didn’t team for this, but if teaming makes it trivial than maybe they need to make it be harder when teamed. That’s cool - why let people cheese this, it is supposed to be a challenge. I agree with you there. So 10x the hp and damage on every mob when in a 5 man, works for me

btw the layer was tuned for 190+ ilvl you were nearly 15 ilvls below
that like fresh 80 going into m10 and expecting to time the key.

Yep. Now it’s brandead like islands and warfronts, hope they make corridors endless and hard otherwise it will fail while of course they can add more cosmetics as time goes on, I hope they don’t abandon it like warfronts because it still has potential.

I wasn’t saying that Torghast couldn’t or shouldn’t be challenging, but that balancing it and everything else around top end players would be bad for the game if it causes the “scrubs” to have a bad time. M+ and Mythic raiding are balanced around top end players for the most part so I used that as example.
Also, you could technically ignore the timer if you wanted, and it would still be challenging content. I get what you are saying though.
Also Torghast is a numbers/gear check. Trying doing it with gear that isn’t up to snuff. Don’t burn a mob/boss down fast enough and see if you don’t eventually get clapped or hit with a stacking debuff that screws you over.
Been there, done that. Did layer 8 Upper with this hunter at 161 post-buff, pre-nerf.
You literally CANNOT do that with the other content listed.
It just takes learning your full toolkit and some on-the-fly critical thinking skills, which is almost punished by M+ and raiding.

This is really depressing. 
I had a blast the last couple weeks clearing the layers. I was just in normal dungeon gear with a few higher pieces, so we had to take each room carefully, really make use of CC, and generally couldn’t just plow through. It was fun!
But I guess that’s not what people want.
To all you people complaining about how easy it is now. Let us remind you of what you said to those struggling. Its optional you don’t have to do it

You had the option to do the lower layers and get most of the reward. We DON’T have the option to have the challenge Torghast was offering anymore. It is not the same.

But what are they gonna do with their time when they clear Heroic and Mythic Castle Nathria as well as 1000 M+ keys
