Rap in the early 80’s was practice. Rap in the late 80’s was some of the greatest story telling EVER! Straight Out of Compton was a masterpiece of both story and real life. It was a wake up call.

I’m old enough, barely, to remember the days BEFORE 8tracks and cassettes. My mom, when she would tape something to send to her brother (who was serving in Vietnam), had to do it on a reel-to-reel set up.

Kids dont know music period. I guess I’m old but come on 80-90 to early 2000 music was and still is great. Soul, rock, heavy metal it was all great.

Now its how close to the sound of a chalkboard with a screech owl you can be or talking about innuendo being wet @$$ being “so brave” when its just audio garbage. Everything sounds like crap I’ll stick to my SOAD, journey, rob zombie, static x and those like to whatever this stuff they call music is now.
But yeah lol had a walkman then a CD player couldnt run or it would skip like hell hahah man stuff was inconvenient…dial up and buying CDs for internet time where it was flash games joe cartoons and shotty webpages of white with blue text lol

I would pay Bards to run me through Kithicor Forest. Man, that was a scary place at night.

It was terrifying. I’ve never felt fear like that in a game since.

You know you’re old when you hear “Train to Zone” and panic grips you!

I made you a mix tape to tell you how I feel…but I left my name off of it when I pushed it through the vents in your locker so you thought it was from Jimmy, captain of the Football team, so when I asked if you would go to the senior prom with me, you said “No” because Jimmy that @)@$#$ !@ %$ @)#$* has already asked you because my mix tape made you confident enough to approach him and start a relationship…I…I…

When you ask your coworkers if they’ve watched Nightmare on Elmstreet with Robert Englund and the answer is no. One better, night of the living dead. I got a “never heard of that one.” and I’m like you wouldn’t have walking dead without that movie! Then there’s the reply about Tony Todd as Candyman. “Who’s Candyman?”

Google exists.

…or reel-to-reel?

I have collections of all three, sitting in a box held together with duct tape.
