You IGNORED open world pvp content NOW everyone is LEAVING for New world

The open beta was fun. They’ve seemed receptive to feedback and have made changes accordingly. Only real red flag going forward is the shop/monetization fiasco, which I’m guessing has more to do with suits pressuring the only game in their studio that hasn’t crashed and burned yet to be hyper profitable.

Swing and miss. Not a great start to the rant.

I am sure some thought it was. I also know many who didn’t. I don’t really listen to what others say though as I form my own thoughts and not sheeple to streamers like a lot of people here are. So what I saw was very disappointing. Either way, it is not even going to make a dent in WoW and likely not even FFXIV, GW2, ESO and SWTOR.

IMO the only interesting mmo coming in the future is LoL. Will be interesting to see what they do there.

The reckless use of capitalisation in this thread has given me a headache.

I love picking out the randomly all caps words that are thrown into Zapey posts to see what it makes.

It helps to read it in William Shatner’s voice, with a pause before each capitalized word.

Eh, I’ve been asking for a reason for factions to exist since the strict divide was announced. The players - especially those to whom DAoC in its prime was in living memory - wanted this kind of experience. Alterac Valley itself was originally conceived as an open world area.

It’s the developers that gave up on the concept. And modern players, to whom WoW is their only reference point, don’t know what they should be asking for.

Shouldnt have called it “World of Warcraft” and advertise it as Horde vs Alliance then.

Thats like making a Star Wars mmo but no one can use force powers.

Star Wars Galaxies was a much better game when nobody COULD use force powers, btw…

that pseudo mmo with 3 abilities? i doubt it.

couldve at least went with the ff trend lol

odd how a while ago it was FF14 now it’s New World? Weird how folks flock to a new WoW killer so well?
Take it you tried that crap on the boards only for the Squeenix Inquisitors to squelch you off the bat?

This is already there in new world before it has even launched in a form of exp boosts and mats sold on the store . Wow never started like this back in vanilla. This game is already putting monetization over gameplay. They have already accepted their content is so boring that you can pay to skip .

This will be the case as the early players that have boosted will be far ahead of curve. Good luck catching up

Sitting afk waiting on a spawn is doing something? Seems to me like your sitting afk not doing actual content. Waiting is not content…otherwise people wouldnt have complained about 9.1 taking so long

Other than Fallen Charger, I haven’t “sat afk on a spawn.”

Ooooh. Neat. Didn’t know that.

Seems to be keeping me busy.

I agree…how can you do not like pvp when you play mmo?mif I want pve game I play rpg LOL

Lot’s of thing could be control… like when you go bg or arena or any pvp just be a gear inspecting matching so actually player could really enjoy their skills and develop and not everything would be about who played more time and who gathered more gear…would be more fun developing by equal chancing and having a fair endgame

Shouldn’t have called it World of Warcraft then. Might as well have the Horde and Alliance team up and fight mobs together to fight invading enemies in that case.

I mean, war doesn’t imply that it is against each other. We can have a war against any non-playable faction just as easily. Burning Legion, Mawsworn, Scourge, Mantids, Mogo, Iron Horde, any of which could be considered a war, of sorts.
