WoW lore??! Story?! I play wow for the lols!!!
All the lore should be actually in game . If they did it that way weâd actually might get more content and less wtf why are we dong this like we are now .
Iâm a very simple soul. I play mostly for the scenery and to wreck the baddies (= those who are marked as red). All else is optional.
The fact that the entire justification for why TWO expansions actually exists isnât even in-game is ridiculous.
And thatâs just off the top of my head.
Like itâs bad enough that we get stuff like Uldir where you have no idea why itâs even relevant if you havenât played the other factions storyline, but at least thatâs in-game.
Books should be for fluff and fleshing out the background, like Flynn and Matthiasâ book. Not for understanding the basic concept of that expansions MSQ.

At least book to movie adaptations try to tell the same story in most cases (looking at you WWZ).

You see, real life tends to be a bit too overcomplicated for a simple soul like me (ever did taxes?).
Having a world where my swords do the talking is so refreshing.
I donât watch any youtube at all anymore when it comes to wow. They stopped being about actual story and content ages ago. Itâs all now about how terrible WoW is these days, and in some cases how they are enjoying FF14 so much more, and them complaining about their pet peeves about the game.
The only one I vaguely watched was T & E because I thought their little skits were funny, but once I started seeing theme posting multiple FF14 videos, I lost interest.
If they like the game good for them, I think itâs a garbage game myself and I donât particularly care to continue watchinâ.
I substitute my own lore and that lore is that all worgens died horrifically and greymane died alone and covered in flies.

New players get brief cinematics and stories from other players explaining to them what they missed. Am azerite war made some sense in bfa when we were empowering ourselves and building war machines with it. Now you get sent to kul tiras with no heart of azeroth and you cannot even get one until level 50 when you have no use for it. How does any of this make sense? If I were a new player I would say âwow this game is a freaking mess Iâm outta hereâ

i can at least take solace that Blizz ruined WCâs lore so i donât feel a strong urge to go hunt down any of the book-only lore outside of what iâve read in the past already.
And if nothing else at least my WC universe writing is better than what theyâve been spewing out.
Not quite on the topic, but a big disconnect for me is the âdestructionâ of Theramore. It was only destroyed for people that did a quest line and to see it now you have to go to Youtube. The city is still there and is a good travel hub, but weâre supposed to be upset and outraged over its destruction even though for most players it was never destroyed. Its an important lore moment, it should be a ruin now.
