You guys think popular games like FF or SWTOR woulda told its subscribers thats theres a patch coming for the game and then when it comes out its actually not for the game lol, its actually nothing to do with the game but mobile like game and its not even in a mmo realm , im kinda confused bth
Final Fantasy 14 is always adding weird little side things for their players to do. So i don’t think it would be weird for them to do something like this.

So wow has a candy crush but thats different
SWTOR I’m not sure, but FF14 yeah I think they done things like these in the past (not to mention tons of crossovers with other games, similar to the Hearthstone event we had)… I would not be surprise if they add something like this in the Goldens Souser… they already added a few wacky games to it why not this too lol 
When I saw the event I was shock and LOL really hard… Blizz basically created the WoW version of Fortnight! I would NOT be surprise if this type of wacky PvP is added as a game mode in the future or as a recurring event.
A few of my friends and my brother are having a blast with this game mode of PvP, Plunderstorm. 
As a SWTOR fan…yes, in fact they have done so before. We were supposed to get this super good free event a few years back, turns out it was just another cartel pack.

No i dont think they have mission tables.
With the difference that they do not build up false hype and make unnecessary secrecy out of side activities.
Haven’t played ff14 for a while but if I recall they do have limited-time seasonal events that end up on their cash shop and a few unobtainable stuff.

how long ago? Swtor has added some pretty left field game “modes” over the years. I agree this storm thing is unlike anything other mmos do literally, but I think they all make weird decisions.
They already do. 
I dunno I actually think its kinda similar to the space missions in SWTOR. Its been a long time since I played but when I did it was a game mode completely separated from your character and progression, just a fun little side activity with a few achievements and fluff rewards.
Pretty sure the lead dev of FF14 said he’d like blue mage pvp to be a BR mode.
