Oh yeah, i can see them doing it. They would absolutely tick off their base on hypothetical new players that still wont play.

Yea FF14 did a crossover with fall guys and they put fall guys in FF14 for a limited time. But it didn’t take as long to earn the mount/pet/cosmetics.

FFXIV gives the player a lot of choice with thier cosmetics.

“Off to fight an ancient magical evil, wielding a magical artifact weapon… in my pink hoodie, yellow baggy pants and green sneakers!”

Absolutely they would. Pretty sure any mmo dev would.

Wow has that too and it doesn’t seem to bother you.

Did you play swtor when James Ohlen implemented the gambling or RNG boxes for end game gear? The player base reacted pretty badly to that.
