You can't stop boosting. Give it up

Mages are boosting on beta and they’re not even 70 yet. 100% they’ll still be boosting lowbies all the way to 70, via gold bought from RMT sites.

So lets stop trying to argue that a level 58 boost is somehow going to take away from the magic of leveling. That ship sailed a long time ago

You’re right, but my wallet can stop your complaints to Blizzard and that’s all that matters

If you’re referring to slave pens, that XP is pathetically low to try to boost people.

Solo its 100k exp for 15 minutes, as a level 64 mage.

That’s 400k/hr solo exp entirely unoptimized, as a level 64. You’ll lose some as you group/level obviously, but once mages get gear and figure out the most efficient pathing you’ll make a lot of that back up on time/increased packs.

I have no doubt mage boosting in outlands is going to be a thing.

And that’s after they put in the AoE caps yesterday?

It won’t be simply due to the AOE changes. People seem to forget AOE damage calcs changed in TBC where it now doesn’t apply fill 100% damage to all enemies, but gets divided over and over when the group gets too large. This level of AOE boosting isn’t gonna work. Paladins can apparently do it, but the time to kill is much longer. However all this may be moot if there is some beta tbc player already showing us it’s possible with the added mechanics.

The pulls i’ve seen got a lvl 66 mage 1 bar of xp… solo.

ZG boost involves lvl 58s which is why it works. You can’t boost with lvl 62 mobs. Even if u get an average lvl of 64, that 100k xp splits into ~20k per player per run … 20k xp in 15 minutes is pathetic.

Nope. Thats after the AOE cap

Was doing it yesterday with a level 64 mage, and its all over the beta. 100k/run. About 15 minutes a run

Does your credit card censor people on the forums? I’m just trying to imagine your wallet as an obstacle. Seems pretty stupid.

then you must be referring to something more/different than this

Nah, it’s an analogy that cry as hard as they want, Blizzard wants money, not opinions. Like any business. NGL If I could pay 3$ to silence someone on the forums, I’d have done it and have many done it to me.

Yea he seems to still be working it out. You can even hear him talking about how he should be increasing pull sizes etc. People seem to be indicating it nets about 150k/hr in a trio

I need video of what you’re describing.

You’re right. Just like how Blizzard said that “you think you do, but you don’t” and never changed their mind. Oh wait.

The real meta will likely be paladin+mage, like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-1pEavPa0I

but that’s just approaching an old fashioned ‘dungeon carry’, rather than a boost.

Don’t worry, I’ll screen cap this convo and send you a pic of my boosted char so you can get upset.

Make sure it includes the front and back of the credit card you used please <3

Even in your vid, he’s getting a bar about every 15 minutes. So thats about 71k/15 or 284k/hr. That’s not too far off what I mentioned for a level 64.

I did hear some people talking about experimenting with a dual mage or mage/paladin comp which might be better. The point being, boosting will very much be a thing, even after 60… but definitely before.
