"You Can't Carry Anymore of Those Items."

While doing the new Radiant Echoes pre-patch event (on this character specifically), I received 5 Memory of Northrend from Arthas. For a reason unbeknownst to me, it went to my mail instead of my inventory as it has every time before.

When I try to retrieve them, it gives me the message I put in the title, even if I have emptied my inventory of all Memory of Northrend items.

Is this a known bug? Am I just unlucky? Please assist, Blizzard.

Yes, we’ve received reports on it and it’s being looked into.

They also do very, very wonky things in the bank. I don’t think you can have more than 20, and I don’t think you’d ever need more than 20, but some of the behaviors around that are definitely odd. (I posted in an existing thread in the bug report forum if anyone’s in need of more details.)

Just chiming in to say I’m getting the same issue here, with exactly 5 going to my mail that it won’t let me loot.

The same thing is happening to me. I cannot complete my ring now.

If you’ve got 5 in your mail, I’d bet you have more than 15 in your bank, probably your warband bank, and those ones may be hidden from you. Check the warband bank from another character, and remove some so this character only has 20 counting the ones in the mail and all inventory including the warband bank. Then see if you can retrieve them from mail and see the ones in the bank. Check the threads in bug reports for more info, but this may be a workaround for you.

I combined all my memories and put them into the Warbank. For example, I have 18 Memories of Northrend so I cannot loot my mailbox to collect the 5 in the mailbox since it goes over 20.

However, I was able to loot some off mobs today to add more to them in my warbank but there is an issue with the mailbox currently. I don’t get an error when looting additional off mobs, just when trying to obtain them out of my mailbox.

I’m still completely baffled by how the Memories operate. I know I need 20 to make 1 Essence, and 1 of each Essence to form the ring, but now that I’ve made one ring I no longer collect the Memories. Is this as intended, or am I missing a step somewhere?

Thanks for any clues!

It’s intended, once you get the run, the memories are not needed anymore.

I understand that as being for the character who created the ring, but I have more than one character, and not one of them seems to be collecting new Memories.

Once you create one ring all your characters can get the ring from your Heirlooms page. They don’t need to collect Memories.

Any character who needs to use the heirloom ring can grab it from the Heirloom tab in your Collections.
