You Can Now Mail Items and Gold Cross Faction!

You can now mail items and gold cross faction under these conditions! Assuming the other character is on the same realm (or connected realm).

  1. Your other characters on your account.
  2. A BNet Friend who is on the same server.

I have not tested it if it can be done if you are in the same community as someone that is a BNet Community.

Well, that’s some good news.

Thanks for doing the testing for us.

You can also link your own professions from alts cross-realm so long as you pull your xfaction alts into the same dungeon group. You can then use those links to chat with anyone else in the other faction, e.g. posting your Hordes Tailoring link in Alliance’s trade chat.

Best patch.

So I could mail my Alliance mooching friend gold instead of having to have him sell me something on the AH at an outrageous price? :open_mouth: Nice! No more AH cut!

Bad idea! The line between Alliance and Horde is blurred now. That’s not good for the game.

Yup, though the 1 hour mail timer applies still for mail.

It’s quite good, it means if I want gold on my horde alts I can mail some over from my alliance characters and not need to buy a WoW token.

Eh? You could always move gold over with a 5% tax.

But that requires a friend/guildie you trust with a large sum of gold.

Or a second account

Great feature… This alone is almost worth the subscription price for me.

This really does nothing for anyone with characters on other realms, so until then, this is more of an easement of annoyances than an actual big deal.

It was a big deal for me! My toons on the other side were always scrounging for gold as I rarely played them. Now I can ensure they’re properly geared up with bags and enough cash to buy flying when they level for it.

I never understood keeping a player from sharing resources amongst their alts, even if they were on opposite sides. It just takes a technical annoyance out of the game.

Well! This is some good news today! I can finally go unload all the stuff on those poopy lvl 10 horde toons, my grandson created in 2007 because he was young and wanted to check everything out. Which was totally ok with me. But they have been sitting there, unplayed, since then. They can now be safely deleted!

Finally, now I can send mats back and forth to my alts who need them most.

If your other character is on a connected realm, you can send things. I sent my Alliance hunter on Kargath gear from my Horde rogue on Norgannon.

Well well. This is fantastic! I have a single horde max level char and a pile of Alliance max with all the crafting. It is SO NICE to be able to clean out banks and mail things to the proper places.

I assume that the cross-faction characters have to also be on the same server cluster? I tried the other day to mail horde to horde and because the servers weren’t linked the mail failed.

Yes, as usual all things need to be on the same server/realm (or connected realms).

No. It was always stupid that if you wanted to play both Horde and Alliance on the same server, you had to have duplicate professions for both factions.

The concerns about big wheeler dealers using this to exploit the economies of multiple realms remain.
