while i do agree that fearward is MASSIVELY OVERRATED
Stoneform is actually GODTIER for pvp , but that is a whole different animal

Arathi(lumber mill) and Alterac (from the alliance side) have cliffs where if you get to cast a mind control you can kill someone, so I would say that getting a surprise cast is better than a fear ward. In warsong gulch or trying to cap bases in arathi, I would say that fear ward is better. But NE priest is not bad by any means. Also I really like Elunes grace for pvp, I think it is a lot better than a lot of people think
NE priests are BiS for griefing. Pop an invis pot and board zeppelin. Shadowmeld somewhere safe, then after takeoff, mind control them into fatigue water.

Iâve never missed out on joining a group because I wasnât min / maxed outside of those snobby raiders who cut on the razor edge.
No one ever said, no, donât put fortitude on me. NO donât heal me while three mobs are killing me, etc.
A priest, even a shadow priest can turn around most things outside of raiding for others.
Play what pleases you.
If you aim to play on a pvp server, shadowmeld is a very useful thing.
Fear ward is just a uber elete raider meme, and ya know, most raids may be so stacked with dwarf priests that just bringing heals will matter little if most priests follow the dwarf priest with fear ward are âBISâ
There are never enough healers that groups will get that picky except at extreme edge endgame, and even then, just a capable warm body with heals is better than being short of heals, and difference between races is really minimal over all.

Played NE Priest (this character) and raided server first all through Vanilla, TBC, and Wrath.
With that said, if I were playing priest in Classic and wanted to raid semi-hardcore or hardcore and didnât already have an established guild, Iâd go dwarf all the way. Sure, fear ward isnât mandatory, but it sure looks good on the guild application!

Being able to shadowmeld then drink will help frequently, and sometimes you can mind control out of a shadowmeld and catch someone offguard (lumbermill comes to mind).

Iâm planning to play an alliance priest. Here is how i am putting weight to this problem, since i will play on a pvp server.
Fear ward - good for raids and good against warlocks in pvp sure. I probably wonât get to raiding for months, and the number of encounters solo 1v1 on warlock, no way of knowing but probably minimal.
Shadowmeld - How many times will i go afk to pee, get food, spend 5 or 10 mins walking around outside or chatting with the wife. Coming back to not being ganked every single time seems pretty legit.
Shadowmeld also holds a valuable pvp advantage. Stay in stealth at say Lumbermill or farm or a tower in AV until the last possible second while someone is trying to cap, while you spam for backup then at the last second do some damage to interrupt them and hold down the fort until help arrives.
There will be plenty of min max priests out there that go dwarf for fear ward. I was originally leaning towards Dwarf Priest but⌠when i look at tier 3 armor, it would look so much better on a night elf. that with Shadowmeld and Iâm almost sold on NE Priest

if you plan on pvp , dont even think about fearward , think about Stoneform!

I would let you into my raid, ppl make too big a deal out of racials. If youâre not going hardcore its really not a prob.
a 3 minute cooldown for 8 seconds of bleed and poison immunity. or freedom to afk whenever i want on a 10 second cooldown.
Still leaning towards NE Sorry

and thats cool , just pointing that fearward is absurdly overrated compared to stoneform wich is the actual selling point of dwarfs
Do you want to look nice or look like a strange burrito? Go NE and forget dwarf exists.
Sorry but nothing tops going to Blackrock Mountain, shadowmelding & then mindcontrolling the other side into the lava.

people who think there will be a steady enough supply of competent priest healers that they can start picking and choosing from them based on race selection always make me laugh.

Yeah, I wouldnât know anything about being a Nelf PriestâŚ
For crying out loud just play what you want to play and stop letting the min/max crowd control your decisions.
If youâre good at the game, they will know, and wonât care that youâre a Nelf.
Plus all the others who âhad to roll dwarf for priest because fear wardâ will be there to use the fear ward.
And youâll have Starshards and they will be jealous because they donât.

There needs to be more priests in a raid than the number of Dwarf Priests needed for Fear Ward.
Go Shadow, I dont think any class character model combo looks better than a Female SPriest.
