I think Blizz want to wrap that up and do their own thing with new material in some respects. That’s just my guess but your theory or observation makes sense. I think a proper encounter with some old gods in an expansion would of been cool, they did N’zoth dirty.
Simple really, the Old gods cannot be FORCED from Azeroth, when a Titan yanked Y’shaarj the Old god from the planet it left a wound which went on to be the well of eternity, no one ever said anything about Azeroth being exploded by an Old god’s death…they’re just too embedded in the planet to be forcibly removed (we “killed” C’thun and Y’ogg by taking out their brains, we didn’t move their bodies we just prevented them from remanifesting). We then killed them permanently in Ny’lotha along with all other Old gods from Azeroth when we blew the place to oblivion in The waking City raid, Old gods like Demons die permanently when killed in their own realm.
As far as im aware we didnt. At least theres still some echoes of him in ulduar as recently as legion. Also fun facts, in the cloak questline in bfa where you check how the titan facilities are doing, ulduar is oddly silent.
I’ve always felt like Yogg has had influence over Wrathion… He always has a way of dealing with old Gods… like inside knowledge and the Old gods hate each other…
At this point in the story Yogg-Saron is a small fry. He would only qualify as a end of dungeon boss, or maybe a mid raid boss at best. Compared to the jailer, he is as insignificant as a random mortal is to Yogg-Saron.
They can make his model as big as they want, the jailer hasn’t made me upset enough to hate him or love him yet like Yogg. That mouth toad is nuts. It’s sort of why I hate traveling to other dimensions and worlds, the big bosses feel like they have a deeper impact when they are on Azeroth. Even lei-shen felt like more of a dooker.
