Yo blizzard this MMR system needs a full rework

swole is smart, listen to swole.

They donā€™t, thatā€™s the one bracket of people who play to push rating for the sake of being the top, thatā€™s their motivation, itā€™s the people who donā€™t regularly participate regardless that you have to incentivise to participate if you want to get them in.

Nop sorry but glad is for the top end of player, not everyone

I personally love Kydravā€™s idea of recolored elite sets. I think 2200 and 2700 ratings desperately need some form of reward. I also think they need to improve the Elite rewards. The banner is lame. Perhaps an even cooler weapon tint for weapons?

Also, they need to add incentives to queueing mains. Iā€™m unsure how, but I miss the days where players were associated with main class/specs. I think like reckful to rogue or hydra to priest.

This needs to happen asap.

Idk man, i think theres a middle ground to be had between glad at R1 level and @ 2100.

In a normal season, theres a clear gap in from 2.1 to 2.2 - 2.3, and then 2.4 and up.

Lets not throw the baby with the bathwater, the achievement is still a cool recognition of a certsin lvl of skill achieved.

Yeah but I mean something to display that in-game rather than a 3rd party website.

I think this is the biggest thing that could possibly improve participation.

I see a lot of posts suggesting that ā€œmore inflationā€ will improve participation, but in truth we have never seen that as a result.
Nobody cares about inflation as the number, so much as the reward obtained.

Elite sets were moved from 2400 to 2200 to 2k to 1800. Elite weapons were moved from 2400 to 2100. Elite enchant was moved from 2400 to 2200 to 2100 to 1950. Glad was moved from top 0.5% to ~2-3%, and as high as 10% in slands s2. Rival is now the top ~55%.

None of these things have resulted in a sustained increase in participation.

Further, having higher tiers of rewards to achieve IS What motivates players to work together and improve to reach their goal and directly correlates to participation.

The problems arise when people feel that their goals are unreachable and/or their time spent working towards them is wasted.

On that end, I think that blizzard SHOULD give additional rewards, and I think that PVE gear is a great place to start, as the community at large is WoW players, not just pvpers or pvers. However, just as pvpers donā€™t want pve gear to be bis in pvp, that pvp gear should ALSO not be bis in pve. Being on the mythic track is a great start, as by nature of its stats it will likely not be bis anyways, and is still limited by the crest cap in terms of upgrades. This will give a reward for people who play both areas of content, but not make people feel forced to excel in both.

That isnā€™t what Swole is talking about brother, heā€™s saying donā€™t let the former AWC people turned dev/consultant pull up the rope ladder behind them.

Normally I pvp on three toons, this season Iā€™ve done hardly any at all b/c the rating cap at start of season (again). Why play a game where you canā€™t push because your CR gains are non existent for the first month or two? Just saying that either way is the devs :poop: on long term customers.
