Yikes - Tier 2 remix Rogue

I just got a whiff of the T2 reforged set.
Looks awful, worse than the original aside from the helm that is actually an updated graphics homage.
The rest is awful:

  • red+grey instead of the iconic red+black? What were you thinking?
  • no black smoke off the shoulders that only computers set to high graphics could see back in 2005. Missed opportunity to modernize that like absolute kings.
  • what is with the cuffs on the gloves and boots?
  • belt: if you’re gonna make it pop out, at least give it personality.
  • underarm of chest goes up instead of in, which when covered by shoulders and a tabard, just looks like a flat grey colour.

Literally roll around in OG T2 with the new helm and you’re good to go.
60 bronze coin currency grind over 2 weeks for a hat lol

A real shame. The other sets were done so well.

Meh. Never did like the Ninjas in Pajamas era of Rogue Gear circa Vanilla and TBC. That Monk set, though. That’s really good.

while i agree. the only real rogue set that matters. is bonescythe. at least for me, aesthetically cannot be beaten. theres some good rogue sets but that OG bonescythe color scheme is peak. but i really do agree with a lot said about the T2 revamp. while its nice, it just misses entirely because it looks more like mail gear with how shiny it is VS the OG which has this “yeah thats made of leather” look about it. idk how to explain it really. but that flat matte shadowy color scheme of OG T2 is way better than what they tried to do with the new one.

Also, the part where they keep insisting on adding these stupid armor panels that look like they are made of metal to the legs of leather sets.

The leather gear does not need bulky layering. You do not need to add these stupid plates to the thighs. The idea is to be slim and functional. Not add extra armor plating. It’s not Mail/half plate gear.

Since nobody really has it, I still roll around in the Pandaria CM xmog personally. Regardless, I think the T2 remake is…OK? But that’s it, just OK. Was never much of a fan of Bloodfang even when it was new tbh, and the remake doesn’t really improve upon my issues with it. To be fair though, most of the classes T2 sets are kinda meh, even with the up-rez remake. The ones for the “new” classes are pretty good though. Good enough they feel out of place compared to the rest if I’m being honest.

For me my rogue goes around in the Mythic Castle Nathria set, absolutely love the Bloodborne vibs it gives off and was never really that impressed with early rogue sets outside of a few TBC sets.

It’s largely personal preference. I really don’t like stuff that looks tribal or patchwork, so some of our sets I utterly despise. This is just my personal thoughts, but:

  • Most of BC was good, aside from T6.
  • WotLK, only the T7/T3 remake. T8 was…passable, aside from the helm.
  • The only set I liked in Cata was the Firelands one, but damn was it a good one.
  • Pandria was overall pretty good, but nothing standout aside from the CM gear.
  • WoD was pretty meh, but I this was where I kinda started to play less. Last set looks decent.
  • Everything in Legion was pretty meh. Why they though bringing back the spiked V of Slayer was a good idea I’ll never know.
  • Skipped most of BFA and SL. BFA I don’t like the look of. Most of the SL stuff seems decent.
  • First tier of TWW is ok. Nothing amazing, but it’s kinda plain.

the fake rogue’s set was never going to be purchased by me, but the original colour was really good:

I think the remaster looks really good.

On an unrelated note, I wish they’d done a tier 5 remake.

That is imho the best rogue set ever made.

Considering everythine mentioned in this thread, what could you like about it that the original T2 didn’t do better?

It is certainly one of the best, but it also holds up really well.
As someone who plays many classes, I wish they would have redone T1 instead of T2 because the T1 are equally as iconic, but dated really fast whereas T2 basically still holds up and didn’t need an update, but don’t get me wrong, I like them a lot.

I mean, I think this set does what it was intended to do.

It’s an HD remodel of a set from Vanilla.

None of the points the OP made make any sense aside from:

Which really that point applies to the new shoulderpads.

But even so, the new shoulderpads match with the rest of the set.

Tbh, I think the appeal of having a T2 remake just came from people clamoring for an updated Judgement set seeing as how iconic it is.

Honestly, I’ve always had 2 gripes with Bloodfang, and they hold to this day. I don’t hate it but:

  1. The shoulders are big, and they look weird on skinnier characters like female NE.
  2. I was never a fan of the exposed arms. Why is my cool assassin armor a T shirt?
