A lot of the comments mention to just look for the yellow circle under the npcs- the one with it is the boggart, easy peasy.
So, I couldnt see it. I messed with my settings all over the place, trying to get the circles to show. Finally, in interface > names, SOMETHING I turned on (or off) did it- and now I can see said yellow circles.
'Cept now that I have the achievement I want them to go away. And nothing I turn off or on makes it go away.
Halp.
Was this an option in the default UI, Miggie? If it was you just should need to untoggle the option you toggled before.
If you picked up an addon to help you should be able to either change the selections in the addon, disable the addon or remove it entirely.

It was in the default UI. I tried to go back to the way I always keep my settings, but it’s still there, so I’m not sure what setting it was, that I need to change.
Can you give us a screenshot, Miggie? It might help better understand what you are seeing.
To clarify a bit, the green circle under the mobs is normal, if the mob is friendly to you. Yellow means it is neutral and red is hostile. If it’s showing yellow, that should be normal but a pic of what you are seeing might help.
Sure, here is a screenshot, the slight, faint, yellow circle under mobs.
It only shows up for mobs that are a quest objective. It also shows up under friendly NPCs if they are part of a quest objective. In this screenshot, I am not targeting any of them.

Oh I see what you’re talking out. That’s a different “target circle.” That’s specifically for quest objectives. It took me a few minutes to realize you weren’t referring to the combat-related circle.
Try going to Interface>Names>NPC Names and click “none”. Does that disable it?

I still think my UI reset has merrit have you tried that yet.
Interface>Display> Outline Mode> Choose.
I tried doing what I suggested with the boggarts in the “Tough Crowd” world quest and it didn’t work so scratch that. I think you should just do the UI reset because I can’t find any way to disable the quest NPC circle and nothing online suggests that its possible without addons.
I tried that and it didn’t remove the quest circle.
Do you have Advanced Interface addon? Its in there too.
Okay, I can see what you are referring to and checked on those mobs. That glow appears to be on those mobs regardless of if they are targeted or not and seems to be part of the quest system. I don’t know if there is an option in the default UI to turn that off.
However, if you really want it off you can use:
/console ShowQuestUnitCircles 0
