Broke down and bought an epic mount cause that was the excuse everyone used as to why resources were so hard to get… There is flat out nothing out there but bots circling zones over and over again…

Their response to the botting has been so bad. They could task 5 GMs to just view some of the deliberate cheating they do in game and ban tons of them.

Yeah it’s why I just said no to gathering professions. I’ve got a 70 mage… full T2 set bonus farmer gear… far more lucrative than endlessly competing with bots.
(I still wish they’d do something about bots though)

Get off of those trash mega servers IMO. On DD I am drowning in nodes and herbs. It actually feels like authentic WoW. There is a small but active and friendly community of people that know each other.
I have been on this server for a couple weeks now and have yet to see somebody spamming for selling boosts in LFG. In fact LFG is more of a fun world chat on this server, with people not needing to macro spam when they want to find people. Everything is better here. I’ll give ya bags if you want.

Bots are paying customers same as you. Blizzard allowed multiboxing for years it’s going to take longer for them to give up this cash cow
Yeah you got a point there. I came to the EST mega server from the PST semi-mega server due to moving cross country.
One thing I didn’t do was research the server prior… and my jaw literally hit the floor when I saw LFG. It’s literally an endless spam of text… 24 hours a day.
I don’t dislike the server… I found a solid guild and am prepping my 2 fresh 70’s for raiding as we speak… but yeah, if I had to do it over again I’d have went to a smaller one…

First they would have to hire 5 GM’s they currently rely 100% on automated bans pretty sure
I transferred to this server from a larger server back in classic. My wife and kids play so it was like $250 at that time. The server has since shot up to borderline mega size and now there are more toons. Not doing it, I didn’t chose this. Blizzard allowed this and then stripped the layers off. They need to fix it.
Botting has always been against TOS, where as just recently, input broadcasting was made to be against TOS. Multiboxing is not and has never been.
Huge difference between Multiboxers who are actually playing the game compared to Bots running automated programs with no one actually playing.
Anyways… I also unfortunately don’t think blizzard will do anything about the bots. They make to much money off of them.

What if Blizz is in on it? I’ve never visited any gold selling sites but in 2011 I was hacked after my account sat inactive for about 9 months. I frequently update my password and run scans for keyloggers and viruses and somehow they got into my account.
The only reason I even noticed was because they leveled mining on my DK who previously only had enchanting. They also vendored certain items like my orb of sin’dorei and some of my transmog gear but left 90% of my bank and gold untouched. It felt like somebody just logged into my account to dink around and didn’t care about the gold.
I still think it was Ghostcrawler because I made a habit of criticizing him on the old forums.

THIS. if you hate bots, get off the mega servers. there will still be bots, but it’ll be a lot more manageable.

Mega servers also have boosting services for gold. All servers that have boosts for gold also have bots. Same with GDKP runs. People need gold for that and if they are too lazy to do the content then they will be too lazy to farm gold.
I was on a very Vanilla server until it no kidding died in a single week. It was never mega server populated or super busy in the world but it was good.
I’m now on Grob and I so miss fighting players who had some PvP sense. It was fun because they were often geared decently spec’d for PvP and it was not usually easy to kill them making the experience really good.
Contrast this to Grob where it’s really unfair, it feels like we both outnumber the horde here and they’re not very good and PvE spec’d and badly geared. It’s super disappointing.
My horde account has no one to PvP vs because Kerinnaxx is dead Alliance side, like there are no kidding 6 people on line.
