I’m not blaming Blizzard for the error. I’m saying Blizzard has piss poor customer support.
They acknowledged it once after like 4 days after the error was surfaced and went dead silent until after the next weekly reset.
Do you assume everyone online is tech savvy?
In this very thread, I listed step-by-step how to update drivers manually and the person I was replying to told me that they were still confused.
In any case, I am starting to sound like a broken record so I am done talking about this. My sub ends in 3 days and then I can start breaking my habit of coming to GD when I am bored.
I tried everything, even uninstalling and reinstalling WoW and the Battle.net app. I spent half of day 1 troubleshooting, then most of the week checking Technical Support to see if there was a fix.
I then managed to fix it after a blue finally decided to let people know what was going on and trying to update my driver multiple times.
it quite honestly could be one of the servers in your area that are used to communicate to the Blizzard servers being down. It happens man, and it sucks.
A blue post explained that it was compatibility with drivers. They changed something and decided to keep silent until the next reset, after some people lost a week of paid playtime.
huh, such an odd and random issue. Sorry to hear your bad luck. In the grand scheme of things how long of your life have you already devoted to this game?
Maybe a different perspective is that it’s just a week.
I feel ya I opened up the game client and thought about it. Hmmm do mythic plus—no, do lfr—no, check the timing for dragon keep or cooking feast–nah it’s all a slog now. I don’t care to give hours of my week to join a raid group so effectively the game tells me i am not wanted here and I accept.
I assure you, I checked Technical Support daily until I fixed my problem and it was more than “a few people”. And those were only the people who posted. Who knows how many people has this error but didn’t say anything?
I am done talking to you tbh. You neither understand what I’m saying nor do you empathize with the people who had this error dumped on them.
Please feel free to not reply to this. In fact, I would appreciate if you not reply to this. Thanks.
The lag in Valdrakken is crazy! its only in the capital though because when i am in Stormwind or Dalaran for example there is no lag at all but since the latest patch i can barely move in Valdrakken.
even a couple of hundred, is not a lot.
if there is something happening which blizzard can fix, they need to
first establish there is a problem.
find out where the problem is (user end, or their end)
collect data from players who are always less than forthcoming when it comes to providing DxDiag, or other info which is requested.
if it’s their end, they need to find a fix
once a fix has been found, they need to create that fix.
wave their magic wand so a fix happens instantly (obviously)
I’m not sure why it would require empathy… it’s not as if someone was murdered or became terminally ill because of issues with a game.
…but you also seem to be less than understanding.
I was watching a couple of those threads.
One of them had around 2000 posts.
Lots of people were happy to chime in with “me too, y u no fix!”
…yet blues had asked for people to submit DxDiag info, and from the first 1000 posts, there were a whole 20 people who were willing to take this basic step to help blizzard gather info.
Twenty people.
That is an insanely tiny sample size for something which is apparently causing a major inconvenience for as many users as you would like people to believe.
…and by that point, the blue had already made two requests for people to provide details.
How are they meant to hurry up and fix anything, when people don’t care enough to provide the information required for them to even establish there’s an issue?
Hmm?
