Yea its over for me

Most of my friends have already quit tww and either stopped playing all together or started fresh toons on HC or even went back to SoD for similar reasons. They just don’t like tww they say. Long read ahead.

PvP - This is a legit joke of a mess with insane imbalance and mmr problems “to put it mildly” and the non stop “zerg the boss” metas in epic BGs which makes it PvE and not PvP… Losing an Ashran in 3 minutes with 1 HK IS NOT PvP!!! Losing AV in 6 minutes with 1 or 2 HK’s IS NOT PVP!!! Of course engaging in pvp in those BGs is usually 40v1 as everyone plays the current meta and tunnel visions. I have PvP’d a lot in wow and I have never seen it in such a terrible place in all my years. Watching Monks and Evokers fly across the map LITERALLY out ranging every single player in the BG and almost impossible to slow is to me the absolute DUMBEST thing Blizzard has ever put into PvP… Look at DH they NERFED their mobility with flags to the ground and then gave 2 classes triple the speed??? Like… a monkey could do better than these game designers.

Mythic Plus - Is a depressive mess when you spend hours trying to get into groups and the one and ONLY response people have to that is “make your own group”… Yes people take the better gear/score/classes but progressing into that tier is very frustrating for people “like myself” who don’t raid anymore and prefer M+. Good thing they put out an affix that 1 class and 1 class only can’t dispel and makes us very useless.

World Quests - These have gotten to the point of just being lame and boring. I have 0 desire to do a single WQ anymore. Make it to where if you hit max rep on that toon then rep quests turn to gold, or 571 gear that’s 50 levels outdated 1 month in gives… GOLD.? Why nerf the hell out of Dragon race gold? Oh cool a 50 Kej WQ is up when I already have 20,000 sitting around!! Sounds fun!!

Balance - It actually feels like we are playing Beta right now. The tuning has been so stupid it actually makes me question what these game designers are reading/watching and how many might actually play the game at all. They really only tune classes based on raids and not PvP until they see a large drop off in numbers which is starting to happen. PvP tuning this week was a start but they very clearly ignored player feedback from the forums explaining why so many classes are insanely OP atm.

Bugs - Look I run Herbalist and Mining and I am very content with that and I enjoy it for the most part just casually cruising and listening to music. But when you have nodes CONSTANTLY de spawning and I mean alllll the damn time over and over and over it actually starts to really piss people off. I had an instance where I counted 6 nodes in a row de spawn 1/2 way though my cast and just makes me want to hearth and do something else.

Phasing - To piggy back on Herbism and Mining nothing is more fun than seeing that Lush Luredrop sitting 3 feet in front of you and not being able to herb it because 2 feet in front of you, you get phased only to take 2 steps back and watch it re spawn when you get re-phased again.

Delves - I personally enjoy Delves but man is it turning into an pain in the a** and chore to grind weekly doing 8 of them when I really don’t want to but we all know how that works… “Well don’t do them” I don’t mind doing them but they get pretty damn repetitive and old quick. 2-4-6 would be perfect and its obviously something a lot of people feel they have to max out especially if you don’t raid.

Professions - Look I think the new professions are really cool and all but its as plain as day what Blizzards intent for them is… BUY TOKENS! Allowing people to set the prices of items was a stupid stupid idea, Crafting a 2H was over 100K commission on top of material cost which was insanely high for a while. C’mon… I have millions of gold and I see people always saying “well there’s another token” or something to that extent. I am not a fan of that direction for the game. Several people don’t care and several will critique some of these views but that’s ok. If you didn’t spend insane amounts of gold at the start you fell behind pretty quick.

Timewalking!! - I love leveling my alts in TW dungeons and still farming that damn Timereaver mount that has eluded me for many many years but nerfing TW sets and Azerite gear and dropping the quest from 500 to 300 after first toon is just dumb design again… If it isn’t broke then don’t fix it and it definitely wasn’t broke… You just ruin several small things and it eventually turns into a big thing. Mage tower? Sure it’ll eventually get fixed and scaled but this is probably very low on Blizzards list of things to adjust but it was a fun challenge aside from normal content. I needed 1 more tower to get my spell tome and its so extremely over tuned its actually hilarious.

I just don’t cherish the game anymore. Giving items/mounts away that people have spent insane amounts of gold on and earned legitimately started my trend of not liking the direction its headed. I get it, the people getting all these TCG mounts and MoP mounts its great for them but the amount of hours “several several thousand kills for MoP mounts over the years on alt army” and honestly about 22-25 million gold on TCG mounts from the AH or BMAH for nothing. It really sucks… No one who hasn’t done that would know how frustrating it is. Just knowing I spent the time I spent trying to earn those and farming legit gold and not buying tokens really leaves a pit in your stomach. I truly believe Blizzard should refund people that gold spent “you know they can” for the mounts people purchased. I had a former guildy “I didn’t know him well” who raged so hard for spending 9 million gold on Heavenly Cloud Serpent on the BMAH and not even a month later they announced the 1% drop off the boss up from 1 in 5,000, he had over 3,700 kills he said and he actually stopped playing because of it. But Blizz losing that 1 player to gain significantly more is good business but it’s an ugly look from the veteran players for sure. It basically makes me not want to do what I loved doing and farm extremely rare things in the game as I know eventually it will be given away for practically nothing.

I have already gone back to HC for the most part and am waiting to see any classic news soon, hopefully. I might be on to check out the 20th Anniversary but aside from that I just don’t really enjoy anything at all about the current state of the game. It’s boring to me. Retail has absolutely nothing on Classic versions of the game and the community. I mean hell I have like 4 or 5 people in my guild of a thousand who actually talk. This game has evolved “for a while now” into a solo venture which kinda sucks being such a massive mmo… Most of my friends have left already “They played most or all of DF and loved it” and I think it’s going to get worse as time goes by sadly. I know a lot of people will see things different and that’s fine, this is just my opinion and the opinions of many many people who see it the same way. Guess that 12 month subscription was more or less used for Classic >.<

No offense but I am not reading your the Novelization of your time in wow.

Seems like you are quitting though. Its probably for good reason. So I wish you the best of luck in wherever Life takes you

OP has some valid points though. PvE rush in Epic BGs isn’t fun. The concept of PvPvE isn’t bad, but it usually ends up in just rushing PvE for victory and that shouldn’t be a thing for PvP oriented gameplay.

I concur. But at the same time mean no ill will. You are bored with a game you once loved and now you are quitting. Good luck in regards to finding that next game that hits all the right beats for you.

Boss rushing in PvP has been that way sinc early AV changes I can go do 5min AV games in classic wow right now.

Wow PvP has always been a mess.

Anniversary is coming next week, but honestly, I am pretty bored at this point. I may just pass on it.

There’s stuff I’d like to chase, but meh. A lot of the cosmetics just aren’t appealing to me, or I already have my favorites that I never change, like mounts and mogs.

If I’m not having fun, it’s time to put the game down.

PvP is alright, but I mostly did it for the rewards. The current ones don’t interest me.

Might be back for the next patch, I’m interested in the lore at least.

Already got TWW loremaster.

Just kinda burnt-out, and run out of things that I’d enjoy doing.

I went and caught every wild battle-pet in TWW yesterday, was that bored lol. (At least the reward, Waxwick, is cool.)

Agreed but if you play PvP at all right now it’s probably the biggest and nastiest mess it’s ever been. Rated PvP is in shambles with MMR and rating issues, Epic BG’s aren’t even epic. I lost an Ashran in 3 minutes and the only alliance I saw was 2 AFK free kills at the boss… It’s not how it is supposed to be… Ashran, AV and even WG need some serious re-work. Sadly it won’t happen till it’s too late.

It’s already too late. They tried saving PvP by putting in a solo q ranked mode but didn’t fix the fundamental issues PvP has had for a decade

Since they’ve killed TW with the 71+ XP nerf, the anniversary is honestly the only thing drawing me to the game right now. Other than that, it’s almost an 11.2 Remix waiting room for me.

I guess I have this to do. I haven’t done that for DF either. Or some of SL. ZM at least.

No shame in leaving Retail if your not having a good time. And it’s good that you have found a part of WoW that you still do find fun. So have a blast in HC and if you dp come back to TWW they’ll probably be a catch up mechanic or better changes to your concerns.

I did great at first in SS and then I hit a major brick wall of nothing but super busted DKs and it kinda ruined it for me. Then I swapped to Blitz and had a lot of fun till about 1800-1900 when 1 win gave you 1 rating and 1 loss gave you -15 over and over. Then I started to realize what a lot of us know, Q syncing into Blitz games as a pre-made is what made me give up on Blitz. I can’t tell you how many times I would see heavy comp stacks and people from the same guilds in Blitz, we all know that’s not random luck.

Again, PvP is a rolling dumpster fire that’s crashed into a firework’s factory at this point. I feel like this season in general has crashed into the fireworks factory honestly.

There is little to nothing redeeming about this season other than the raid. Even that though is a bit problematic due to how the bosses are tuned, given four are pushovers, and the other four are anti PuG nightmares.

Sure would be nice if they actually fixed the queue system to account for class comp balance (no 3+ DKs, MM Hunters, Frost Mages on one team while the other gets none), and not allow for premades, but whatever lol. :tipping_hand_man:t5:

Maybe it’d actually be playable then.

See thats one of the things that kept me around when things got bad was farming toys and mounts. I have 920 mounts but now I feel like it’s not worth it because of all the freebies and wasting my time farming them.

I was a hardcore raider for many years and stopped at the end of Legion so I can’t comment on that but from watching the race it sure seemed exactly like that lol. And yes I feel like I log in and ask myself what to do what to do over and over then log out. I don’t feel like sitting in Mythic Plus Q’s for hours on end and spamming Delves gets pretty old pretty fast. World PvP as horde is just flat out non existent, its easily 40v5 Alliance to Horde ration on supply chests and its very rare to win one unless its a late night.

Pretty much every endgame pillar has a problem right now. Usually around loot or scaling, or class representation (Resto Shaman being the “only” accepted healer for M+, for example.)

Some of it is exaggerated, but there’s also nuggets of truth in there too. (I firmly believe BG Blitz is a total cluster****.)

Delves are probably the least problematic at the moment.

Yea and that’s an issue. That game has been out for 6 weeks lol. I mean 1 small little thing to make A LOT of people hang around is to push Delve gear up now. 8 is 603 so make it should go up 3 ilvls each level you complete after 8? Keeps people on pace with M+ players and relevant and hell an 11 delve is no joke even at 615 ivl its a challenge.

That’s where I disagree the difficulty curve between delves and m+ is wild. A 8 delves is as hard as a 6/7 M+ for most people. I’m doing 9/10s… and those are far harder than the hardest tier of delves
