The issue is that most of them aren’t controlled. They’re a complete mess. Having larger clean pulls is good, but it’s a skill and most tanks I’ve seen don’t know how to do it,
The problem is those large pulls are not being controlled in the slightest.
I mean, I’ve yet to see a tank even come close to death… I’ve done at least 10 dungeons.
Follower dungeons are near useless for actually learning a dungeon in my opinion because the bots don’t act like players and glitch out all the time. I’ll watch them walk off ledges and teleport around and ignore the boss to dogpile on two other mobs that you tagged. Its a very clumsy implementation and they’re not very good aside from dodging a lengthy dps queue to do a story dungeon or mess around to try out a rotation from an unfamiliar spec.
You are playing a multiplayer game and if you wanna zoom through a dungeon because you are fiending to get to 80 to run a hundred heroics then that’s fine cuz the game lets you do that. At the same time you could at least act like a reasonable sentient human being that possesses empathy and intellect and not flame people for dying to aoe’s and casts from mobs your party pulled because they don’t know what’s going on or aren’t keeping up
The reason they are not controlled is because the group isn’t comfortable with that playstyle. Hence why I think there should be a second queue option for slowbies.
It isn’t entirely up to the tank to control these pulls. The entire group needs to be knocking/interrupting/incapping etc. until you get to the sweet safe wall/grip point that you can actually aoe in peace.
zoomers would just ruin the slowbies queue because they NEED to get to 80 and they NEED to run this instance 20 more times to get that item wowhead told them parsed the best and EVERYBODY ELSE is being totally UNREASONABLE for not playing like them
large controlled packs are a cake walk. but these are the most chaotic pulls i’ve seen. granted I did not play any df at all. didn’t vibe it. so idk when it shifted to this but it is very chaotic not controlled. if it was I don’t think i’d be salty. if we are wiping to controlled pulls then it’s a user skill error and the fault would lay with me. but I think what myself and others are experiencing is not controlled and when you’re a low leveled under geared new class and spec healer they just don’t have the play knowledge to handle the chaos. they are expecting others to have the same level of in game knowledge they do and it’s not going to always work out for them and there needs to be some shared culpability there
It’s not. It’s because good tanks know how to gather the enemies in tight groups. They’ll use los, and know casters don’t aggro to them. They have a good iq when it comes to these nuances. There’s a lot of unavoidable aoe, so really all the tank really is doing is putting 10x’s more pressure on the healer.
I don’t think it has to do with comfort at all. When the huge pulls are disaster, and dps is getting aggro’d, npc’s are running all over the place cc’ing. That’s just chaos.
Wait until Heroics. They are pulled often the same. I know the dungeon with the bees - the trash can be rough but tanks will pull it all anyway
If gear is the barrier then get better gear and try again later. Out of my 4 80s, 3 of which were all dungeon leveled, I think we wiped maybe once? At a certain point one needs to look inwards and not blame everyone else.
Sounds like you’re projecting some personal issues onto me. I don’t recall ever doing this?
Girls, girls, girls. You are both pretty. Get married, Go to Goldshire, or elope to the Hot Springs.
In this case IDK, you’re probably just not ready for non-follower style dungeons yet until you get a good grasp on your healer’s APM.
Right, sure totally. I agree tanks gather/grip/interrupt/LOS. It is also the groups job to do so to make this job is easier on the tank. Not to mention most noobs don’t know how to LOS properly, and end up allowing freecasts.
As a side note some of the DPS I’ve seen in these dungeons is atrocious lol. That’s another matter entirely (that is 10000000% related). Thankfully I rarely have to hit that queue button without a group these days.
Pathetic.
You are suggesting people not wanting to pull dungeons are making multiple threads. That’s what plural means. “Threads”. Go ahead and find them. I’ll wait for your links, or you are wrong. Meet your own criteria you hold others too, or be a hypocrite… and wrong.
The last time I healed was Restoration Druid in Legion before Mythic 0 dungeons. I enjoyed healing the normal and heroics, mythic was not enjoyable though. Before that I healed as a Holy Paladin in Cataclysm, that was the most fun I had as a healer.
Congrats for having the most take ive read on here so far.
Literally playing a game you dont like, dragging people down with you and acting more entitled than the OP
You cant make this shi up
I like how the two vulpera are just waiting for each other to post so they can argue between each other.
Wait till you get into heroic and people show how salty they really are… just left one that was giving the tank a hard time. I really do not have the patients with randoms anymore.
the only way to get that as a healer is practical experience and that’s what normals are for? I swear this isn’t a hard concept. we don’t have to act like normals are top tier content. they are introductory. getting used to working in groups learning the class and dungeons. which is why it’s mind boggling to me that people will speed down to the boss with the entire dungeon on their butt and then get mad a low leveled healer can’t keep up. they don’t have the gear, experience, - hence them being in an introductory leveling dungeon - to be able to handle that much avoidable damage.
It’s like 2 Chihuahua’s barking at each other through a fence.
If you want to learn dungeon go make your own group or use followers, my time is as valuable as I deem it to be, and if I value my own time to get as much done as I can, I will go fast,
