the WoW fan base was never really all that great to start however its gotten…particularly bad. Its actually way worse than I think most people even realize.
I have glimmers of hope though with some progress shown for community management that the spazzes settle down.
What do you mean when you say “us”? I’m still a fan, can you prove to me that I’m alone and the millions of people who play this game all agree with you?
The last Star Wars movies were bad not because they targeted children but because it was horrid writing. The hero is a Mary Sue that can do anything and never needs to grow, the villains are completely incompetent and never provide a challenge to overcome, the supporting cast makes moronic decisions consistently to the point hat it breaks the suspension of disbelief. They took established characters and made them pathetic in the hopes that they can show how much better their new characters are.
You can please the older fan base even if it is targeted for children. The Mandalorian proves that although I’ve heard thats went down hill because they fell into the same trap as the movie.
I’ve never really been a star wars fan, this is just criticism of a company messing up what is very simple to write (the heros journey.) But they are not the only ones most of the comic book movies have the same problems.

Do you have any evidence to back up what your saying about how things for WOW are worst than most people think?
If you discount the forums which tend to be where angry people congregate to complain about the game and the CCs who make a living giving those people rage bait for clicks, what evidence to you have that the player base in general does not like the game?

I see defenders of the current Star Wars movies post this and it is just as wrong now as it always has been. I have no problem with movies that appeal to kids, it’s just the sequal trilogy films were BAD. TFA was a promising start even it was just ripping of ANH, but TLJ was horrible and ROS wasn’t much better. The difference with the OT is it was able to appeal to both kids AND adults when they were released. That is the difference. Give me an interesting story that makes sense with characters that are likeable and I’ll enjoy it. Hence my enjoyment of The Mandolorian, the Obi Wan series and even Solo and Rogue One.
And I wasn’t around this game back in it’s huge heyday as I only started with BFA. I was playing SWG at the time then went to STO and TOR. If people miss the old version of WOW they can always go play classic.
Well sure, but do I also discount trade chat? Certain servers? TWITTER? Various screenshots from Discord servers? Every other BG? People getting doxxed? Almost Every keystone? People getting SWATTED? A plethora of stories spanning years from players? Devs getting harassed left and right?
Like, sure everyone got evidence, WoW is a super toxic community. Do I have any evidence its worse than people think?

people love this game thats why they are so critical of it.
It’s just this forum and some content creators making money out of haters.
This is one of the few echo chambers where people complain, but that doesn’t mean it’s a majority.
There are a lot of people who love the game and love the changes, and try to see the story from the devs eyes and don’t care if there’s some part of the story that they disagree or don’t fully get because they understand that WoW is an ongoing story and it’s not over until it’s over.
You won’t find them here. Look for them ingame, doing laps around Oribos on their new mounts, collecting stuff, queueing for mythic plus, raiding and celebrating their AOTC.
You’ll find them sharing their achievements on twitter and watching wholesome streamers like GossipCurl or liking screenshot art from MistweaverLily on twitter.

Telling devs they should die or lose the jobs, constructive criticism? I have see it quite often on these forums. it’s actually a big problem not just for wow.
maybe they get that on twitter, but ive never seen that on the forums.
They shouldn’t be getting that at all.

you know twitter is a cesspool hodge podge of many people, most of which who do not even play wow anymore too.

wow, i have never once attacked anyone on these forums. or in any social media. my extent of feedback is giving mounts flying shoes so all mounts can fly. wonderful of you to lump everyone with any feedback with a small few miscreants
It sucks doesn’t it? Tell that to those people that pop in say “I like this feature or thing in game”, you look at the abuse they get… Shill, Brown-noser, Kiss butt, and the list goes on. A majority on the forums acts like they are in an abusive relationship.
