I mean…saying “people love this game thats why they are so critical of it.” in a thread talking about how toxic the fan base is…
the people on the forums do not even represent .00001% of the playerbase. the vast majority are spending their time in azeroth. while it seems everyone here lives on the forums.

It really revolves around people gravitate more towards negativity/drama. Positivity is great, but I mean its much easier to bond and form a community feeling around negativity (especially online) sadly.
Secondly, WoW largely is the same game its always been. There have been changes, some good and others bad. But at its core, its the same game. Make character → level → do dungeons/raid → get gear. Nothings changed and really people i think are just burnt out and tired of it, at least in my opinion. Issue is we/I are so addicted that we continue to login and drag ourselves to do stuff even though we dont enjoy it. Why? Because we arent the same age we were 5, 10, 15 years ago.
But most of the modern Star Wars stuff was terrible.
Kylo was a giant manchild, Finn’s arc was the victim of vehicular manslaughter, Luke’s character got absolutely murdered and he was turned into a hopeless old curmudgeon willing to let atrocity carry on and consume the galaxy he loved, they dragged Palpatine’s corpse out of the reactor core so they could drag it through the muck for nostalgia’s sake, Rey was a giant Mary Sue that didn’t have to struggle to achieve all the power she got and in whose favor the world just seemed to bend, Blobba Fett’s show tried to get us to sympathize with a bunch of brutal slavers, and Kenobi toward the end gave Obi the Luke treatment as mentioned above.
If they didn’t want people calling their garbage garbage then they shouldn’t have made garbage.

To me they should kept certain parts of legends Canon .
The Villain should of been Jacen Solo /Darth Caedus (Still could of kept Sidious for the last)
For the hero /heroine Lukes son Ben Skywalker or Jacen’s twin sister Jaina Solo

Why not connect with areas of the fanbase that are more aligned with you? There’s some twitter circles and WoW reddit is alright as well if you’re into memes and sarcasm. The GD and MMOC are a lot more critique and troll heavy in general, so at some point you gotto take responsibility for yourself and choose the space that works for you.
You have to realize that part of the entertainment people get out of the game is the ability to be perpetually outraged.
Some of WoW’s biggest critics have been posting here for years… continuing to both pay and play.
The nature of customer service, feedback, forums, and news is that it’s negative. Either large productional or small anecdotal.
There’s money in negative. Money in controversy and it sells via sensationalism…i,e, misinformation and ironically is the basis for the hype train we all use to subscribe is that our lack of information makes us curious about what’s there except the outcome is completely subjective and rarely satisfying to the point that it cannot satisfy fully any expectation.
Then you get people who forget the bad, remember only the good, and defend what they remembered and then juxtapose themselves in a diatribe of competitive sound boarding on the forums…i,e. elites vs casuals, classic andys vs retailers, RPG vs Esport, guild vs solo, world pvp vs. PVE centric and the list goes on
Honestly, blizz simply needs to read these exaggerated responses on here and aim for the middle.
Ill be honest, I vastly prefer the people ranting about the game over the weirdos that call anyone that disagrees with their opinion a troll before stomping their feet and crying about putting people on ignore like the petulant children that they are.
Some of y’alls ideas involve giving up a whole raid tier and patch cycle to buy a virtual couch.
