Hi all,
From WoW’s earliest days, we’ve always had to take steps to limit experience gains for characters when grouped with someone of a drastically higher level. We recently became aware of a bug introduced in 7.3.5: a side-effect of the vastly expanded creature scaling was causing the logic to break when awarding XP in some situations. Earlier today, we applied a hotfix to creature experience that corrects this issue.
At the same time, we have significantly increased the experience awarded through queuing for random Normal dungeons from Classic through Draenor content. Running dungeons at the appropriate should feel rewarding, whether as a complement to or even an complete alternative to questing.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and will continue to keep a close eye on the pacing of the leveling experience in 7.3.5 and beyond.
Man, you guys love spewing bs don't you.
You don't give a rat's !@# about our feedback, and it's so EXTREMELY obvious that you just keep nerfing ways to level fast to force people to waste time doing stuff they hate... or more importantly
buy boosts.
Either bring back the dungeon powerleveling, or put RAF back.
(Or a 3rd solution, but we all know you won't get around to that for multiple years, so...)
What's really disturbing is the total lack of communication, they used the scalling as an excuse to make the whole leveling experience slower, first i tought it was just out of tune, but seeing them actively nerfing stuff related to leveling, even the obnoxious ones, is a red flag.
Good change.
If only because it upsets the perennial whiners.
Maybe you haven't tried to level in 7.3.5. See how it is first before you spew nonsense like this.
There is no reason to make aged old contents (from classic to WOD) harder and take longer time to do than Legion contents except to sell more boost.
Here is the deal. Dungeons scale with your level right? Well the problem is at lvl 30 in SFK I get 40%. At 42 in SFK I get 34%. These are steady numbers and not outliers. The higher the level you get above the original intended level of the dungeon the lower the experience you get. We're getting !@#$ed 6 ways from Sunday with everything being done with leveling in this patch.
So, you guys punish us for finding a good way to level.
Then you expect us to buy boosts - which also doesn't give you legacy armor, by the way.
You want us to sit in q's forever, for pultry exp, on a harder scale. Or quest in an extremely slow and boring system.
Please bring back the exp gain, because leveling is now really !@#$ing %^-.

I rarely post on the forums anymore as for the most part I'm pretty happy with the game, but the xp changes that zone scaling brought with them suck for veteran players, and I feel I should post some feedback.
I've leveled every class to 110 alliance side every class again horde side to at least level 90 with 3 110s, these toons were leveled during every xpac this game has seen, and this is by far the worse it has ever been baring my OG grind to 60 on this priest in vanilla.
Heirloom gear xp needs to be upped, by using this gear we are opting out of the slower leveling system, The very vocal group that loves slower leveling have the choice not to use the gear.
Please just give people more options, I'm not asking to take anything away from the people that enjoy the slower leveling, I'm asking for more options for the people that don't, as everyone of my friends I've asked loves the scaling but hates the slower xp.
You could keep Heirlooms as scaling gear and take the xp increase off them so people can still use them for item level, then just add new neck, ring or trinket that just gives bulk +xp bonus to kills and quests, then it's simple a choice of not putting on 1 item if you want to opt out.
I hope you read my feedback and thanks for a great game.
is this fix already in? Or can we expect it later?
hey guys make sure to tweet at them too just in case none of the devs nor blues actually read this thread.
Here is their twitter handle:
@WarcraftDevs
and since he is the game director here is Ion's (aka Watcher):

Like, if you want to make dungeons take long for whatever narrative you're trying to spin at least make the XP worth your time.
Most people understand that these changes are designed to make new players experience the game better(how much of this is entirely truthful customers will never know). On the other hand, for veteran players this is a slog. You either need to look further into the XP dungeon gains or simply increase the XP on looms.

So TL;DR you nerfed carry runs? Because new players had access to high-level friends and/or second accounts?
Again Blizzard - maybe you should look at the underlying behavior between RaF'ing yourself and dual-box carrying yourself through dungeons.
Maybe that should tell you something about the overall length of time it takes to cap a toon? Or the goals of the player community.
But yeah, I'm sure you "appreciate feedback". I love giving it and watching you either do the exact opposite or just ignore it completely.
P.S.
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20760926709?page=49 - 50 pages are still unanswered.
MoP world bosses still have 34% more hp.
Sha of Anger
7.3.2 - 7.6 million hp
7.3.5 - 11.5 million hp
I know you are trying to sell more boosts, but not everyone farms mogs/mounts on capped toons. Nor should they have to for 8 year old content. Levelers don't kill world bosses.
Pretty embarrassing that Ornyx doesn't even reply to his own thread.

Your post should be a clear signal to Blizzard that this hotfix is just a spiteful move at best!
Is the experience gained from specific queuing the same? Many players only "specific" queue because they want to get every dungeon quest completed. Getting a dungeon they've already completed when "random" queuing is not helpful as there are no new quests to complete.

Translation: I have absolutely nothing of value to offer constructively, so instead I'll...
I'll bite my lip this time, you're not worth it.

Yeah, you've never gotten the random queue bonus for queuing a specific dungeon from the list. It's just the dungeon complete bonus for specific queues like that.

Restored a rando level 72 DK I had deleted years ago, and just ran myself through Ramps three time. I averaged just shy of 1.3mil XP/hr. Its lower than it was when I powerleveled this guy using the same method, but definitely not a 90% reduction.
Its still high enough that its easier and more effective than any other leveling method in the game currently by at least fivefold, by my best estimate.
EDIT: I forget that this was with rested, so I take that back. The overall nerf is huge.
it was never intended for a max level character to use thier max level inflated stats to carry a drastically lower leveled alt or friend through dungeons. the reason they didn't pay much attention to it before was because it isn't as rampant as it is now. and at the same time, they want you to explore the world and actually do open world quests. not sit in orgrimmar or stormwind where you press a button, spend an hour watching an anime on crunchy roll and check back with just 5 minutes left on the queue.
they also want you to actually engage yourself in the game, not mindlessly mash keys while you sit on netflix because at the point. you aren't engaged in the game, you are performing a different task and putting less than the bare minimum of a mobile game. that is not what they want.
an entire patch ago, in fact, an entire expansion ago, i leveled my mage through caraclysm, wrath and pandaria content with level 70 burning crusade PVP gear and didn't start redoing gear until after i finished the Warlords Tanaan introduction to get the garrisson maid. due to the draenor stat squish.
seriously. my item level wasn't even two hundred, and i was doing quests intended for a four hundred and fifty item level as a class with no crowd control and no self heals, no absorbs at the time, and i was still making short work of stuff. because the difference was barely noticeable between item levels of 480 and 170.

Never intended? They let it happen for 13 years approximately. They dont want me to mindlessly mash keys? But all I have to spam is incinerate. I need to put in more effort? Ok now i'll drop a chaos bolt once in a while and spam incinerate some more. Engage myself? Even some of my level capped characters only have 4 buttons that are regularly pressed. Your last point is a stat squish issue, and on that front.... GOOD NEWS!!! More squish imminent!
