Cinematic directing is done in a purposeful way, and the focus on feet is definitely purposeful. When a director plans out a scene, they storyboard it and plan out what the shots are going to look like. When those feet are the focus of the frame, the director sees that and possibly plans that, then decides to go for it. Terran Gregory looks at the storyboards, which includes these feet being focused in the shot, then approves it. These scenes could easily be done in a way where the feet aren’t dangling there where the soles can be seen, Xalatath could just as easily float there with her feet directly level as if she were walking on air instead of pointing downwards.
Something to take into consideration is this expansion’s marketing. It’s pretty much a Dwarf expansion, but the marketing has been 80% Xalatath and 20% Alleria. That’s because these characters have sex appeal. Marketing the expansion with pretty Elves is on purpose, and focusing on Xalatath’s feet is also on purpose. Foot fetish is something that hits that perfect spot of being something sexualized yet also involves something so normal that it doesn’t typically gross out people.

I honestly didn’t think about Xalatath’s feet until I saw people on the Forums talking about it.
Even then, I am trying to figure it out… I didn’t notice any particular focus on her feet that was jarring or out of place… I don’t think she caresses people’s face with her feet… or Vogues with her feet instead of her hands? I may have missed it.

I have been trying to figure out what everyone is talking about and I think they notice her feet more because she floats?
It would be funny to see a movie about someone who is floating but the budget is so low, they just never shoot the actors feet to show them floating.
People notice her feet because they have been deliberately and repeatedly given close-ups while being used to visually frame other characters. The ending cinematic for Nerub-ar Palace has a close up shot of Ansurek’s face with Xal’atath’s feet on either side of her face. The only way to not notice it is to have your eyes closed.

It’s perfectly normal for a character’s smooth, beautiful feet to be in shot in dramatic moments. It’s got nothing to do with the writer/cinematic directior being sexually attracted to them. All it’s doing is showing her superiority over whoever she’s adressing by putting her ‘above’ them in a visual sense.
There’s this thing called Media Literacy maybe you should look into it?

Are her feet beautiful? They look like they would be kinda dirty, being all undead and being barefoot all over the place. I guess that’s what foot fetish people like? Smelly undead feet?
I suppose if you had a hand fetish, and you saw an ungloved hand, you would be like “why does Blizzard tempt me with this naked hand?!?”

Just to address the ‘it is just showing her superiority’ people, obviously it can be both. They can have shots that both have some actual meaning in the shot while also doing it a bit much or having an ulterior motive (like a fetish).

I kind of agree. It reminds me of Lucifer’s feet first introduction in Constantine where he’s dirty and dripping tar. Not erotic if you look past basic foot fetishism.
