Smart money would be Alleria, I’m guessing.
… Can this simply not be a Gul’dan/Kel’Thuzad/Kael’thas situation?
This is not happening. Most players going into TWW now see Alleria as their queen/waifu, they will not turn on her and it won’t make sense to turn her into a raid boss.
Can’t say I’ve seen that attitude myself, thank goodness.
You’ll be taking quests from Alleria, Umbric, and other Void Elves for at least the next 6 years.
Better get used to this.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with that at all. For the most part, I like Alleria.
I’m not blinded by it, though. She’s been messing with the Void, which typically comes back to bite characters where the sun doesn’t shine. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alleria was the last raid boss of TWW. Doesn’t mean she’ll die, mind you.
As I said earlier, however, I haven’t seen a lot of, “Muh Qween,” or, “My Waifu,” type comments in regards to Alleria. Players like her, but don’t objectify her that way.
Were people under the impression Xal’atath and her proxies wouldn’t be around until the end of the saga? That’s wild to me.
It wouldn’t surprise me if her form changes over time, like say, her current vessel being destroyed and Xal’atah having to possess a new one, like Alleria.
Wouldn’t be much of a saga if the main villain died in the first part.
Another thing that perked up my ears was his “You are not prepared to deal with the Sword(In Silithus)”.
Illidan 100% returning, riding on “redeemed”(or subjugated) Sargeras’ shoulders.
Illidan is slowly absorbing sargeras and by the Last titan he will be fully a titan himself, and the pantheon will be all dead besides him, Azeroth is not a Titan, so Illidan will be the last titan.
I dont think she is suppose to be the final villain at least. Heck, maybe she will end up dead in Midnight and then we deal with the titans or Xal’s master.
We will also learn the secrets of the Titan Facilities that will change everything we know about the Titans.
Odyn already confirmed that the Old Gods build many of the wonders attributed to the Titans with a cache containing Titan, Shath’yar and Demon Runes from before the Burning Legion being discovered so we have evidence for the Nathrezim being involved in these wonders themselves.
Ulduar being built by the God of Death is a Nathrezim Facility(who else besides a Nathrezim is a God of Death?) while Uldum built by C’Thun is a Void Facility built for one purpose only: To fire Reply Code Omega at N’Zoth calling the Void Lords to send the Old Gods’ past selves to Azeroth’s past(Ulduar’s Reply Code Omega would just call in the Burning Legion)!
No wonder N’Zoth declared war on not only Y’Shaarj(demonic enough to be a Nathrezim spy) and Yogg-Saron(being a God of Death his being a Nathrezim spy is almost certain) but C’Thun as well! N’Zoth did not want to die!
Alas there is One Truth and N’Zoth could not escape it! C’Thun already accepted his fate of being hacked down knowing he would return to his masters. N’Zoth on the other hand was killed by a beacon into the Void which would follow his Soul there killing it!
A cruel destiny! He of course accounted for that by copying himself onto the Blade of the Black Empire but his original Soul is destroyed!
At least we now know why N’Zoth’s voice in Alleria’s head was joined by a chorus: All 4 Old Gods can see our point in time through the link to the present! Their dead selves saw what we saw.
C’Thun’s statement of “You are already dead.” is a statement to our fate of dying of old age. He is also informing us that despite our victories we will not be surrounded by our friends who will have left us to the ravages of time.
Zovaal knowing about the Sword is also explained: Y’Shaarj and Yogg-Saron gazed into the past as well as studied N’Zoth’s corpse and found proof of the Sword’s existence. Y’Shaarj after banishment probably got in contact with Denathrius who passed it down to Zovaal while preparing for his imprisonment that Y’Shaarj foreseen.
That would be hilarious, not gonna lie.
Illidan would have reason to want the Nathrezim Spies’ Facility(Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel) in Northrend investigated!
Learning that the Legion was created to deal with Old Gods and learning that an Old God built the Titan Facilities on Azeroth(remember Odyn specifically had the Old Gods’ wonders attributed to the Titans) would draw Illidan’s attention.
Even if he learns of the Void’s defeat in Midnight he is still going to investigate the Facilities anyways starting with Ulduar and rotating through them to figure out what his Enemies’ plans are.
It can very much still be Xal’atath. We do have an example of an end of expansion boss surviving their encounter and appears in the next expansion. That being Garrosh.
One could also argue that Archimonde was not really the true threat of WoD but Gul’dan. Who does survive WoD only to die in Legion.
I’m still not convinced that we will actually “win” this expansion as well. We could easily fight Xal’atath in the final raid of the expansion and end up actually losing, leading to the issues of Midnight. This has been my thinking for a while honestly.
I think we handle the situation in TWW, be it momentarily. Then we pull an MCU move, and get completely hosed in Midnight (think ending of Infinity War) then come back in Last Titan and save the day and the world (Endgame)
I would be pretty stoked to see Illidan again honetly.
Maybe she dies immediately at the start of Midnight.
No.
I remember when they said this about WoD and then quickly killed off Maraad and then never brought back any of the new characters.
I expect this time will be the same.

There’s a character that’s getting all the attention, fanart, and memes, and it isn’t Alleria.
Hint: 59% of players support her, and the expansion hasn’t even launched yet.
