Xal'atath not dying in The War Within

They never used a boss twice. Not even big names like Azshara.

After the Sylavnas skin release for Diablo 4 and Overwatch it obvious who their main marketing tool is among all the Windrunner sisters.

Kel’thuzad got used three times.

One more and he’ll get a free sundae.

Alleria as the war within end boss? No way. Maybe midnight that’d make sense but no cigar here for you.

Just seems like she’s on the block at some point.

Midnight’s supposed to be the Void vs. the Light. I expect Turalyon will be the last boss for Midnight.

Alleria and turalyon not bossing in the same expansion? Your on something friend

Xal’atath also received a D4 skin. Which OW character would be a good fit for her? I feel like Symmetra could have void portals, and then summon tentacles instead of turrets.

Also Archimonde and Kiljaeden were used twice.

everyone likes the goth girls

Why would Blizzard make them both raid bosses in the same expansion?

The way I see it, Alleria as the last boss of TWW is her coming to terms with whatever it is she needs to sacrifice to truly master the Void, and us keeping her in check while that happens. I doubt she’ll die. Could be possible.

As for Turalyon, the man’s had death flags on him for ages. Midnight is a Light vs. Void expansion, so I expect the Void will lose by the end of the first raid, which leaves the Light to handle. Lightbound Turalyon final expansion boss wouldn’t be odd. Might not die. We’ll have to see what development Alleria gets in TWW, and whether or not Arator ever gets used. Depending on those two, Turalyon may get thrown on the sacrificial altar of character development, with the added effect that Anduin goes home and sits on his own throne for a change of pace.

Xal’atath posses Alleria in an attempt to revive Arator after he dies battling the Nerubians which is the final straw that makes Alleria snap and give fully into the Void.

Alleria just ins’t interesting.

A large part of that is she’s basically just a hunter that can open portals. Like she goes on and on about sacrifices she made and stuff, but we never actually see her do anything cool with the void powers she got.

Elf with a bow is about as basic as you can get in fantasy aside from male human paladin.

There is a reason they gave Lor’themar a dead eye anda big huge sword. We have more then enough elf archers already.

Good. I like Alleria but I dont want her to turn into a cult of personality like Sylvanas inspires.

That is painfully untrue. The following have been used as bosses in instances (Dungeons or raids) more than once (I’m not counting instances that have been revamped as the original version no longer exist… because I’ll be here for hours listing every boss that is in the original and the revamp / re-master version. I am also not counting MU and AU versions as the same character. So I won’t be counting AU Ner’zhul [Shadowmoon Burial Grounds] and MU Ner’zhul [Sanctum of Domination] for example. Also the echo’s of Sylvanas and Jaina in End Time. As that is an alternative future. But the other CoT dungeons that take place in the past are fair game)

Nefarian (BWL & BWD)
Ragnaros (Molten Core & Firelands)
Kel’thuzad (Wrath Naxx, Sanctum of Domination)
Kael’thas Sunstrider (Tempest Keep: The Eye, Magister’s Terrace, Castle Nathria)
Anub’arak (Azjol’Nerub and Trial of the Crusader)
Archimonde (Battle for Mount Hyjal and Hellfire Citadel)
Kil’jaeden (Sunwell Plataeu and Tomb of Sargeras)
Queen Azshara (Well of Eternity and The Eternal Palace)
General Kaal (Sanguine Depths, Castle Nathria)
Hakkar the Soulflayer (vanilla ZG and Da Other Side)
Helya (Maw of Souls and Trial of Valor)
Odyn (Halls of Valor and Trial of Valor)
Mannoroth (Well of Eternity and Hellfire Citadel)
Mal’ganis (Culling of Stratholme and Sepulcher of the First Ones)
Il’gynoth (Emerald Nightmare and Ny’alotha the Waking City)
Ra-den (Throne of Thunder and Ny’alotha the Waking City)
The Lich King (Halls of Reflection and Icecrown Citadel)
Attunman, Moroes and Maiden of Virtue (Karazhan and Return to Karazhan)
Chrono-Lord Deios (Ulduman: Legacy of Tyr and Dawn of the Infinite)
The Lost Dwarves (Ulduman [Horde only] and Ulduman: Legacy of Tyr)

I think that is all of them beyond ones that appeared in an original version and a revamped version that got rid of the original (Yes I am aware that they brought back the vanilla versions of Scholomance and Scarlet Monastery. But since you need to attune to those I am not counting them). I listed Hakkar because while the original ZG is lost to time (excluding season of discovery servers in due time), he is not a boss in the revamped ZG that came with Cata. Therefore I am listing him.

EDIT: Forgot about Xy’mox (Castle Nathria and Sepulcher of the First Ones)
Baron Rivendare (Vanilla Stratholme and Wrath Naxx)
AU Teron’gor (Auchindoun and Hellfire Citadel)
Milificent Manastorm (Assault on Violet Hold and Da Other Side)

There are also some that you could argue the case that they should be added to the list above. For example

Valiona (Grim Batol and Bastion of Twilight)
Gara’jal the Spiritbinder (Mogu’shan Vaults and Throne of Thunder)
Onyxia (Onyxia’s Lair, Blackwing Decent)

For Valiona, she is part of the Drahga Shadowburner encounter, a fun twist where the ‘add’ is the boss and the ‘boss’ is the add.
Gara’jal is fought indirectly in the Council of Elders encounter in the Throne of Thunder where he directly possesses members of the council to enhance their abilities. What happens to his soul afterwards is still a mystery.
Onyxia is only part of Nefarian’s Blackwing Decent encounter. That being phase 1.

If we extend it to world bosses, we also have Kazzak. Vanilla, TBC and WoD.

So we got

Kel’thuzad
Kael’thas
Kazzak

All of them have been used as bosses three times. Sadly only two of them can make it a fourth time :stuck_out_tongue:

Because they are husband/wife. … Alleria is going to be huge moving into midnight and the last titan. She’s not getting raid batted unless at the worst it’s a xalatath possession body grab. The whole soldier of azeroth line makes that pretty clear to me.

Turalyon is going to be a boss at some point yeah that’s been obvious since he tried to go after illidan after the naruu death scene. But I’d imagine they would link the two of them.

Her breaking point is her family and Xal’atath will know it.

On one hand, that sounds like wishful thinking - Turalyon isn’t bad just because he got mad his commanding officer and guardian angel was killed. If you know anyone in the army, ask how they’d react if a beloved CO was killed by a potential ally.

On the other hand, nearly everyone has had a turn as a raid boss at some point, so probability suggests it could happen.

As to the outcome, not everyone who becomes a raid boss gets killed off.

Turalyon is 100 percent going light bound. And that is his death sentence. Just wait and see.

Wishful thinking, whether it happens or not. The toxic devs behind that kind of plotline aren’t in the company anymore. And he’s been moving away from fanaticism, not towards it.
